I am trying to find records regarding an old school house that once stood in Tripplet, Kentucky back in early circa 1900-1915, in which my paternal grandmother, J. M. Lewis was a teacher. My family is originally from Sandy Hook and moved to the Morehead area in late 1890s or early 1900s when my great-grandfather built his spoke factory there. My aunt told me of the little school house and suggested I try to find it the next time I go to Elliott County for the Lewis Family Reunion.
We will be visiting the area in late October and would like to have some information as to whether or not the old school has somehow survived. I would appreciate any help you may send my way, as far as website that I can visit, in an attempt to further clarify the school's location and current existence. I hope that your knowledge of the educational area, and perhaps of the county, can be of help to my search.
