Spang 10 Hp. Oil Field Engine Built by Spang Mfg. of Butler, Pennsylvania |

This shows the condition of the Spang engine as I obtained it in West Virginia. It had no oilers but was complete for the most part. |

The engine was stored for almost 2 years while we built our log home. Weighing in at 2600 pounds, I found moving the engine was not an easy task. Here a pair of old axles are being installed. |

The first showing of the engine was at the Apple Butter Festival, in Grand Rapids, Ohio. You can see a white can installed over the hot-tube chimney. On the Spang, I have found this to be a must when running the engine outside. Hot-tube use will become another page of discussion in itself. |

The Spang was dismantled and restored during the winter of 97. It was at this time that I found evidence of it being painted a dark red color.

Here the engine is displayed a-top my 48 Dodge at The Luckey Fall Festival in Luckey, Ohio. Along with a REO reel mower, a planet jr. and my 1-1/2 Hp.Sattley running a silage chopper. |
