Luxor 樂蜀

We left Hurghada early at 4:30am.  It was also a long ride.  We were travelling to Luxor, to begin our Nile Cruise.  Since Egypt was so hot and dry, we went sight-seeing only in the morning and after 4:00pm.  Our first destination was the Karnak Temple (哈納克神廟).  It was a great temple and we simply couldn't imagine how ancient Egyptian build this giant (try to look at the top of the columns and you can see colors that were painted thousands of years ago).  Maybe due to structural consideration, we found a lot of huge stone column there.  Also we could found Pepsi <grin> and the long and sharp Obelisk (尖金塔) - you can find two of them at the background.

After visiting the Karnak temple, we had proceeded to visit the Luxor temple (樂蜀神廟 - or "六"熟神廟 due to the high temperature).  The Luxor temple was not as large as the Karnak temple, since it's only a "season palace".

We went back to the cruise trip on the River Nile (尼羅河).  River Nile is a great river and it's probably why Egypt can have people, just like the Yellow River (黃河) in China.  The River Nile is so special that it's the only major river which flow from south to north, and that's why upper Egypt is at the south and lower Egypt is at the north.

To our surprise, the staff on the cruise celebrated our marriage in the middle of the dinner.

We travelled on the River Nile and without leaving Luxor, we visited the Valley of the Kings.  On the entrance of the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, we saw two large broken statues and they were damaged due to Earthquarkes (which is the major source of damage to the old things in Egypt).  There, we could see a lot of fields.
There was a hole in the statues originally, and it generates the sound of crying when there was wind.

We found that the wall was built up by brick making of mud and dried grass, which was described in the Exodus of the Holy Bible.  Remember the king asked the Israelites to make brick but refused to give them grasses?

Everyday, we went sight-seeing when the cruise stopped and went back to the cruise then.  Photograph one and photograph two on board.  The "temple" behind us was crafted from the rock of the mountain!!!  Incredible.
