Dr. Soules American Hop Bitters.

Manufactured by the Hop Bitters Manufacturing Co, of Rochester, N.Y., USA; Melbourne; Toronto; London; Antwerp; Paris.

The product was compounded from hops, buchu, mandrake, and dandelion.

The delightful bottle featured is relatively abundant in Australian rubbish tips dating from the 1880s to 1890s. They are found in many shades of colour, from amber to dark green.

Honey coloured specimens of this bottle are particularly attractive.

The bottle is blown with the name of Dr. Souls Hop Bitters and dated 1872. A sprig of bitters is also featured.

Without doubt, the date 1872, represents the time the product was first introduced to the public.

This attractive bottle is frequently sort by eager collectors.
