Minor Setback November 23rd-25th, 2002 & January 3, 2003 |
I got an infection in the incision one week post-0p and spent the weekend in the hospital getting IV antibiotics. If the doc says he wants to "probe the wound".. RUN!! Then another set-back on Thanksgiving morning when I sneezed in bed and tore open the top 2 stitches to leave this gaping hole. Naturally being a holiday weekend, it had to wait until Monday for the doc to check it out. Then that word 'probe' again! |

The incision developed an infection and I was re-admitted to the hospital for IV antibiotics. |
That little hole at the bottom is where they took out a staple and used a long que tip to 'probe' the wound and allow someplace for the infection to drain out. |

Lounged around for the weekend getting IV antibiotics and a hot pad to help with the healing. |

What a boring weekend. Nothing to do but lay around and watch old tv shows. |

Why did I wait so long to do this! I have more energy and can and WANT to do more. Walking doesn't hurt the way it used to. |
I can't believe it. I can almost see my toes while standing up! Seven weeks post-op. |

Can you see a difference? I sure feel a difference. |

If the incision hadn't opened, it would be almost healed. Down about 50#'s!! |
