We are the residents of the Old Farms Road neighborhood in Cheshire, Connecticut. We have formed this association to help fight for our rights as home owners.
To oppose Connecticut Light & Power's plan to run a new 345 Kilovolt Transmission Line from Middletown to Norwalk atop new Electric Transmission Towers.
Ideally, to stop the project for the good our our neighbors and all those who would be effected by it. As a minimum, we hope to convince CL&P that burying the transmission line would be the 'proper and right' method for doing this project.
As parents and home owners, we are concerned about the adverse impact that this proposed transmission line will have on our health, the health of our children, and the character of our neighborhood and town. These include but are not limited to:
Increased likelihood of developing Cancer/Leukemia
Interference with Hearing Aids/ Pacemakers
Decreased Air Quality
Exposure to Chemical Defoliants
Decreased Property Values
Aesthetics of the neighborhood
Destruction of wildlife habitat
Increased Noise Pollution
