The prompt is what you see every newline on the terminal, by default your font will look similar to ' > '. Yes, the default prompt is quite boring for an avarage player, which is why you have the ability to change your prompt. To change your prompt all you need to do is type ' prompt ' then followed by what you want your prompt to look like, for example, %^RED%^prompt foobar!%^RESET%^ would make your prompt read ' foobar! ' instead of ' > '. There are also a few varibles which we are adding to the prompt which can display certian information about your character, or any information which we think could benefit you as a player. Below is a list of all the variables. $C - Displays the amount of commands issued from your client $D - Displays your CWD (%^RED%^Wizards only%^RESET%^) $E - Displays the percent experience needed until next level $e - Displays the percent experience you have earned towards the next level $H - Displays your characters Maximum Hit Points $h - Displays your characters Current Hit Points $L - Displays your characters leve $N - Displays your characters name $n - Displays the MUD's name $p - Displays the path of the room your in (%^RED%^Wizards only%^RESET%^) $S - Displays your characters Maximum Spell Points $s - Displays your characters Current Spell Points If your terminal supports ANSI color ( enable with '%^RED%^term ansi%^RESET%^') then you can add color codes to your prompt. To see a list of all of the colors, type '%^RED%^colors%^RESET%^' View the '%^RED%^help color%^%^RESET%^' file for full information on color codes and how to use them. A good prompt to start with would probably be something along the lines of... %^RESET%^< %^RED%^$h/$Hhp %^CYAN%^$s/$Ssp%^RESET%^ > which would display ( for example )... < %^RED%^10/20hp %^CYAN%^30/30sp%^RESET%^ >
