OTHER BERENSTAIN BEAR VIDEOS – ALL OUT OF PRINT
The first two videos seen below are very simple productions that include
a narrator reading the text of the stories while images from the book are
shown on the screen. They are not animated cartoons in the traditional
sense.
The rest of the videos all aired as TV specials between 1979 and 1983
and were later published in book format. When it appeared on TV,
Play Ball was originally titled, “The Berenstain Bears’ Littlest Leaguer,”
(1983) and Cupid’s Surprise was simply, “The Berenstain Bears’ Valentine
Special” (1982). These videos were released by Embassy Home Entertainment
(1984/1987), Kids Klassics Videos (1989-1990), and Good Times Home Video
(1992).
Special school edition videos like “Meet the Berenstains, Jan and Stan”
(American School Publishers, 1991) and “Stan, Jan, and Michael Berenstain”
(Croma Video, 1979) were also made, as well as filmstrip adaptations of
many of the Berenstain Bears storybooks.
