It turned out that Hugo S�nchez. didn�t come from Tipton as he said, but from a small town in Mexico called Tipeyton. It came as a bit of a shock to Snake because he totally hated Mexicans. Now there were three in the band and the hard work was about to begin. The first song they wrote was Voices of Darkness and well it was one of Snake�s first attempts at song writing. What didn�t help was he�d drunk two bottles of vodka that day, and by the time he got to the pub that night to discuss the song with the band he was blind drunk. When he saw Hugo he thumped him and called him a Mexican bastard. By this time Olaf had to restrain Snake, Hugo had a broken nose and two black eyes. After Hugo had been taken to Hospital. Olaf had calmed his old friend down, then the story came out about why Snake hated the Mexicans so much. It turned out that when he was just 8 years old his Mom ran off with a one-legged Mexican tightrope walker called Pancho Villa and he never saw his Mom again. The next day they got down to work rehearsing for their first gig in three weeks time at the Crown pub, Dudley. They were pushing it with one song and this was the sort of thing that Olaf thrived on and in two hours he had written 20 songs. Such classics as Psycho, Black Day Blues and Run with the Devil. That night in the pub they were in a bit of a dilemma about the name of the band, they decided on Hickory Stick, but that lasted for about 3 pints, they then decided on The Olaf Peterson Connection

The Olaf Peterson Connection was born. After the first gig the crowd went crazy. Olaf looked at Snake, Snake looked at Olaf then they ran. One member of the audience grabbed Snake and punched him in the face, Olaf was rugby tackled to the ground and given a good kicking and Hugo was standing behind the bar smoking a large Cuban cigar shouting abuse at the audience. The following morning Olaf walked out of the Hospital holding his two broken ribs and a fractured wrist. At that point Snake pulled up in the van sticking his head out Snake shouted to Olaf �you look shit Man �. �I feel shit�, he replied. As Olaf climbed into the van he turned to Snake and said � I�m buggered for the next gig you know with two broken ribs and a fractured wrist I can't play �.� I know� Snake replied. At this point of the story I must state quietly that I am writing this under duress, so forgive me for my English spelling. I�m a bit scared you see. Anyway, back to the story, were was I ?. Ah yes It was self-apparent to both of them that Olaf could not play the next gig. This is were one of the best guitarists in the world joined the band his name was Leo �slow-fingered � Malone.

The next gig they played they went down a storm the audience went ballistic but this time it wasn�t for blood it was for the music. About six weeks later Olaf was back just in time for their 9th gig. By now the word had gotten around and everybody in the music business were all over them like a rash. The next gig was make or break, if they were shit it must be Olaf Peterson who was to blame. The next gig was at The Venue, London they tore the house down they were fantastic nobody had seen a blues band like that. Lucky for the band, Bob Harris from The Old Grey Whistle Test saw their performance and was blown away by there energy. The last time he had seen a band like this it was the Rolling Stones back in the 60�s. So when Bob Harris got back to the BBC he told his producer of TOGWT about The Olaf Peterson Connection .The producer organised a session for The Olaf Peterson Connection at the BBC Elstree Studios. The following week the Band was there recoding the session for JimVutz the producer of TOGWT. They were the first band to appear on the show without a recording contract. That night JimVutz phoned Bob Harris and said� we got to have these guys on the show� . A week later the show was broadcast and they were inundated with calls

Following the broadcast the band needed a manager so they asked Jim Vutz to be the manager he said no but I know someone who will be interested.

The following day Jim Vutz took the band to see James Moriarty at the Savoy Hotel London. Olaf and the band were a bit nervous because they only had a �10 to their name. Consequently Olaf, the band and Jim were thrown out of the Hotel so James Moriarty had to go outside to them at The Albert Memorial .As James walked towards them he could see they were slapping each another . Jim tried to stop them and as James got closer they all calmed down. It turned out they were fighting because they had no money. James laughed, told them not to worry and took them to the local greasy spoon for breakfast. As they were tucking in to bacon and eggs James explained to them what he could do for them, it was what the band wanted and James became the manager .His first job was to get them a record deal. He went to several of the big names, EMI, Polydor, United Artists but none of them wanted to know. He finally found an independent label Stench Blossom Records.

James talked the band into doing a small tour in Wales before the band went to the studio. Snake was a bit disappointed, he knew some of the best acid in the UK was in Walsall. So off they went on a six week tour of Wales playing at the Red Dragon , the Blue Bell, and the Fell Inn pubs just to name a few. After the third week Olaf decided he could not cope with the smell of the transit van they had got for the tour. So Olaf and Hugo sneaked out and slept on a sand dune on the beach. The next thing there was a light in Olaf �s face and a voice � you can not sleep here me son�, it was the Police. Hugo shouted fuck off I'm sleeping but the two of them were arrested. After being man handled into the Police van, the two constables took Hugo�s name and address but nothing came back from the Police station, then it was Olaf turn to be processed. At this point the shit hit the fan, he was wanted for murder in Liverpool, Olaf was in shock at this, �wanted for murder! No not me� he said but the Police took no notice of this and took them to the station. As the doors of the cell closed Olaf stared ahead at the grey walls of his cell lying back on the bed he closed his eyes and fell asleep. The next morning he woke with a start to find himself in a Police cell and the sound of Hugo being let out of his cell and told he was free to go. Then there was a knock on Olaf �s cell door and the voice of a police officer saying �Peterson here is your breakfast� as the cell door opened, Olaf looked at the officer and asked when am I going to be let out ,�Your in here for murder� said the officer. Hugo turned and walked down the corridor. As the officer opened the door Hugo found himself outside the police station and the sound of the door shutting behind him. After a 40 minute walk, Hugo found the van with Leo and Snake ,�where the hell have you been� said Snake, �I need a drink� replied Hugo as he grabbed a beer ,�Well� said Snake , �Olaf is in the cells at the police station for murder �, exclaimed Hugo.

Back at the police station Olaf was sitting on the bed when the door opened. There stood James Moriarty laughing �got yea �said James , Olaf Stood up �what the fuck � uttered Olaf . �This is inspector Alex Thompson of the CID he was a captain in the same regiment as me �said James laughing I called him to set this up just for a laugh .�bastard � replied Olaf . Come on lets get out of here , grabbing Olaf by the arm they left the police station . At the van Leo was in shock �murder � ,� Yes � uttered Hugo drinking a beer �that's shit it � Snake said , as car pulled up outside they looked out of the back door of the van to see James and Olaf getting out of car , all of them jumped out of the back of the van and all at once uttered�fuck me he's back� , �This bastard stitched me up � said Olaf as James burst into laughter ,�what a tosser�replied Snake. Leo took Olaf by the arm, Olaf got in the back of the van and lay down and fell asleep .The rest of the band sat on the grass talking to James about the next gig .
