I thought this kit was going to be a disappointment when I saw it on the shelf, but
my wife bought it for me, and upon opening it, I found it to be chock full of the
kinds of detailed parts that are invisible to a casual observation, but add a great
deal to the realism of the model and make guys like me very happy. The body is
Kandy Purple Pearl, and the 396 cubic inch engine is done in standard Chevy
orange. The spark plug wires are blue, because my wife didn't have any purple
thread. Beggars can't be choosers.

This view shows some of the detail painting that I put into this model. The trim
along the bottom, the 'CHEVELLE' logo across the rear panel, the window trim,
the 'Super Sport' logo on the rear quarter panel, the door locks, and the SS flags
on the front quarter panel were all painted by hand. It's not terribly clear, but you
can see in this shot that there is a tachometer mounted on the steering column,
and the speedometer is the old Chevy slot-style job. Thanks to some nice
decals, the numbers and needles are visible on both. The radio and heater, to
the right of the speedo, were also hand-painted. All in all, I'd say this is my best
car to date. I'm very happy with it.
