BOYS NORTHERN VIRGINIA CHAMPIONS
Our first Match was rained out. However, our second match started as a rainy day and was almost cancelled due to the rain. The boys started out early to Sudley for a tough match. After a nail biting match we came out victors-5-4. Our girls didn't fair as well with Sudley. We lost 2-7 with one forfeit and a big win by Nadia Laher. Our 10's went to Truro and took a big win there 2-1. We're on our way to a great season. IMUA!!! IMUA!!! IMUA!!!
Our third Match was against Fairfax Station for the girls and boys and against Montclair CC for the 10's. This was our first sweep of the year. The girls won 7-2, the boys won 8-1 and the 10's won 3-0 on a default by Montclair because they failed to show. Let's keep it going..IMUA!!!
Our fourth Match was against Arlington for the 10's and Chantilly for the Boys. The 10's won 3-0 and the Boys won their match 7-2. The girls had a bye.
The last week was a very suspenseful week for our kids. It would determine whether we would be champions or not. The 10's had to play a make-up match against Wakefield who is usually a very strong team but were no match against our boys. We won 3-0. Their next match was against Fairfax Station which they had to win in order to be crowned the Northern Virginia Champions and indeed they won 2-1. The Champions are Scott Belcher, Sam Fiedorek, Cory Huddleston, Scott Holden, Bobby Harrington and Michael Facinoli. Awesome guys!!! IMUA!
The Boys had two matches the last week too. The first was a make-up against Little Rocky Run which the boys had no problem with and won 7-1. The final match was against Montclair Country Club which ended up closer than we wanted. The boys fought hard and won 6-3 to win the Northern Virginia Championship. The Champions are Richard Klimpl, Danny Galvin, Joey Belcher, Matt Bray, Joe Harrington, Neal Chhabra, Alex Holden, Mason Barry, Matt Belcher, Cory Smith, Ryan Huddleston, Rashad Laher, Travis Kane, DJ Hatch, Daniel Quirke, Sean Fitzpatrick, Alex Clark, Chris Drake, Kevin Kane. Congrats guys!!! IMUA!!!
The Girls traveled to Montclair and played a tough match and was tied 4-4 going into the final 16's doubles match. Unfortunately we lost it but not after a hard fight. You see, we've been playing our 12's against the 16's and we ended up in second place. I'm sooo proud of all our players.. I want to congratulate all the girls that played in the matches and hope you enjoyed the experience. Great job..IMUA!!!
