THE HISTORY
VOLLEY BALL CLUB KOPER was founded in 1974
by a group of people fond of volleyball, who, in 1976, decided to affiliate the society to
the Jugoslav Volley Ball Federation. In 1985, after many seasons played in minor
Championships, VBC KOPER reached the second national division. Everything let hope the
passage to the first division, but the failure on qualification tournament and the
decision to rejuvenate the team made the team fell to a lower division in the next year..
At the end of the eighties the team was reorganised with the work of some enthusiast.
After the split of Jugoslavija republic in 1991 the first Slovenian division was
conquered. In the hope of reaching important successes the way based on own young players
was chosen and the successful results supported this choices: between 1991 and 1996 VBC.
KOPER won eleven Slovenian championships in all youngest categories. In 1996 the team was
sponsored by KEMIPLAS , a leader chemistry industry in the region. The success of this
union is witnessed by the still living relationship..The season 1996-97 rewarded the
policy chosen by the society: VBC KOPER won both Slovenian Cup and national championship.
The next goal of the club is to create a society according to the most modern managerial
standards thinking to the volley 2000, in which trust many important sponsors. |
