Actions Speak Louder
You say we can negotiate
But you want things done your way
You say I can do whatever I want
As long as I do what you say
You say communication is important
But you don’t want to listen to me talk
And if I don’t like the way things are going
You say I can open the door and walk
How are we supposed to solve our problems
If we can’t even talk without a fight
How can we come to a compromise
If both of us believe we’re right
How can we meet in the middle
When neither of us wants to budge
How can we get through new issues
When we’re still harboring an old grudge
Please don’t say that this is hopeless
I don’t want our life together to end
What I really want is for us to be
Like we used to be, once again
