As the doors to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom are opened, it is a surprise to find Taimat already there, scratching away at a sheet of parchment with a small quill. The room is set up in the same fashion as before: desks line two opposite walls, and pillows are resting upon them. She continues writing furiously until the desks are filled, then finally she sets down her quill.
Good morning class! I apologize for my hiatus. I had some business to take care of, and I hope that you all did not forget too much during my brief absence. Now, where were we?. . . She flips through a few pages of notes, looking for her lesson plan.
Ah! Here we are. The next spell I will teach you is relatively simple, and I imagine that a few of you have already mastered it of your own accord. However, it is powerful and should not be used carelessly.
Now, wands down, and repeat after me. Stupefy!
Excellent! That is the incantation for the Stunning Charm. It is used, obviously, to stun objects. It can be used not only for living things but also for nonliving ojects that are moving. We will not practice on anything living at this time, but we will expand on the excercise from the last lesson.
Just as before, use the Knockback Jinx to hurl the pillows into the center of the room, but when they bounce back, stun them in midair. In a little while, the charm will wear off, and the pillows will return to you.
Does everyone understand what you are to do? Alright, then. Wands out, and begin.
For homework, name a creature that would most likely take only one wizard to stun. Then tell me a creature that would require many wizards working together in order to be stunned. Finally, look in your notes from previous lessons and tell me the spell that could end the effects of the stunning spell should they not wear off on their own. Homework is worth thirty points, so dont forget!
