I heard about this rock tilting (below) before I hiked in and really wanted to see it. The tilted sedimentary layers were laid down level. The older volcanic layers below however, were still in turmoil and tilted the sedimentary layers above. After the volcanic layers below settled down, the other level sedimentary layers of the Grand Canyon were created. |
