| May 8, 2004 - NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Park Jefferson Speedway - Jefferson, SD John Klynsma has Strong Showing in Return to Park Jefferson After taking the car out for a practice night at Nobles County Speedway in Worthington, MN on May 5th to make sure the problems from Britt were taken care of the team was excited to return to action at Park Jefferson Speedway on May 8th. May 8 was the 2nd week of action at Park Jefferson for 2004, and the field was set by points. John started 5th of 6 cars in his heat race that included some tough cars. John would move quickly up in the field during the heat and take 2nd place to Mark Neal. The feature lineup had John in the 12th starting position. The race would be halted on the first lap for a caution, and the field was reset. After that the car was very good and John quickly moved up in the order to 6th place. John was running the low groove, as we had tried a different gear not giving him the flexibility he needed to move up on the track. John would get caught behind Jeff Fridrich's 7x for several laps. Fridrich was running the same line as John and John couldn't get by. Finally after about 8 laps or so John would get some room under Ken and move by. There were no cautions after the initial reset and by the time John moved into the 5th spot the leaders had opened up a significant gap. John quickly pulled away from Fridrich, but would not have enough time to catch and challenge the leaders. The move from 12th to 5th was a good showing for our first outing at PJ, but a caution could have led to a much better finish. The team returns to Park Jefferson on May 15 prior to the May 27 USMTS race at the track. O.K.
