Heat - Man when Lady Luck is against you she is against you!! Tonight, our night seemed to start out pretty well as John would start 4th in the heat and finish 3rd, the car ran well, and there were no complications before the feature. We felt pretty good about our chances tonight.
A Feature - John was slated to start 8th in the feature, both of our feature wins for the year came from the 8th spot, and the car was strong in the heat so we were really looking forward to the feature. On the drop of the green flag John held his own down the front stretch and was moving around a few cars on the high side of turn 2. When he got on the throttle exiting turn 2 the transmission exploded and he coasted into the pits, without completing a single lap. He would be scored in 21st place. We were crushed, wondering when the bad luck would end.
Standings - Kyle Koster and Jimmy Cole would battle for the feature win, and Chuck Clark would have a solid run as well. John slid down to 5th in the points. We actually still consider ourselves fortunate to be that high in the standings after the last few weeks. With our title hopes crushed, we're regrouping to shoot for a top 3 finish at season's end. |
