Saturday, August 25, 2001 - Park Jefferson Speedway
Heat - We had hoped to improve on last weeks poor outing when we returned to the track. But unfortunately the heat race tonight returned much the same result. John again was unable to get the car into a good rhythm and it proceeded to get worse as the heat race went on. After beating the car up quite a bit the week before we had put some new sheetmetal on the car and cut down the right rear tire on the quarterpanel. He would fail to finish the heat and be scored in 6th.
A Feature - The A feature was an improvement on last week. We had made numerous changes to the car between the heat and the feature and after starting 16th in the A John was able to work his way into the top 10 and finished 9th. Although he was able to make some progress in the race the car was still not handling the way it had in the past, and there was some serious improvements to be made before returning on the 30th.. |
