2001 Race Results
Wednesday, July 25, 2001 - Crawford County Speedway (Denison, IA)
Heat -Results are not available.

A Feature - John towards the back of the feature, and the car was quite strong.  John was able to move up to 4th at the finish.  However...during post-race tech inspection the officials checked the temperatures on the brake rotors.  When they checked John's car they came up to him and said he was disqualified.  John was dumbfounded and asked why, they informed him that his right front rotor was only 90 degrees compared to the rest of the rotors being 300 degrees or more.  The rules say you cannot have any brake shutoff valves on your braking system, and the officials believed we had the right front brake turned off.  It was hard to argue with the temperature readings, but we certainly didn't have any brake shutoff valves on the car!  A closer review by John & the crew revealed that the brake line for the right front had been pinched off.  We don't know how long the line had been pinched off, but we suspect it may have been for quite awhile this season as we've been fighting an extremely loose race car for much of the year, which would be compounded by the right front brake not functioning properly.

Although it was disappointing to accept the disqualification, we hope that the official's assistance in diagnosing that pinched brake line may be the solution to that loose condition.
