Grand Opening
Thats right its the opening ceremony of Oilanche May. 13th, 2003. This site will feature in-depth coverage of two of the most talented teams in the league. Expect to find updated stats and scores of each team. I myself will be the all around expert on both teams while Rapined will be your Colorado Avalanche expert and Pyro the Edmonton Oilers expert. Times will be slow during the summer months as the players get ready for the 03/04 season but any transaction or bit of new about either team will be found here. As the season gets closer things will start to heat up as you will find great season pre-views from the staff and there predictions. I myself will do weekly news columns on anything in hockey as the 03/04 season starts. Well thats all for now but expect frequent updates throughout the summer.

Analysis
It's almost the 25th season of the Oilers in the NHL and to commemorate this, the Oilers will host a regular season game at an outdoor rink!  The game will be played against the Habs at the Commonwealth Stadium where it is expected to set a record for the largest crowd to attend an NHL game. In addition to this event, it will also include an Alumni game

Patrick Roy Retires
The winningest goaltender in NHL history has decided to retire. The 37 year-old, four-time Stanley Cup champ will remain the arguably best goaltender in league history with three Vezina Trophies and three Conn Smythe Trophies.  Roy will make it official with his "special announcement" at 12:00 MST on Sportsnet.

Avs 2 Sign
Just after five days of Roy's retirement announcement, the Avs have managed to sign Forward Cody McCormick of the OHL and Goaltender Tom Lawson of the UHL.  At 6'5" and 200lbs.Tom Lawson has been been named UHL's best goalie and was also part of the UHL's 2003 First Team All-Star.  Another prospect signed was the 20 year-old Cody McCormick who has been nominated for the OHL's Best Body Checker.
Now both prospects seemed to have proved to themselves that they are ready for a higher level of play and will definitely bring their presence to the ice.
