A quick history of the band:
roger We started in 2003 or so..Me,Kev,Mike and Josh our original drummer..Did a bunch of shows up and down the East coast..Played with a bunch of legends like GBH..The Vibrators..The Freeze..Decontrol..then we lost our drummer to internet porn and picked up Jake and we couldn't be happier.
How would you describe your music?
Mike:rock, punk.
Kevan: I will leave that to Roger and our millions of fans. Well maybe
hundreds of fans.
Roger:Punk Rock with a vengeance
Jake:Stepping on the lines between punk, rock 'n' roll, and metal!
What are your influences?
Mike: metal, rockabilliy, rock
Roger: Stranglers,Ramones, Deadboys, Steppenwolf ,C.C.R..Good Rock and Roll
Kevan: 50's - 60's Rock n Roll, early hardcore, metal, thrash, punk, oi, and 1st and 2nd wave ska. Although I dont think you will ever here us play
anything that resembles ska. I could sit here and name off bands but I dont
want to waste our respective time doing so.
Jake:For the band, I would have to say Motorhead, Ramones, Broken Bones, Judas Priest, etc, etc. But my personal influences range anywhere from hardcore punk (Broken Bones, Black Uniforms) to classic death/thrash/stoner metal (Death, Destruction, Black Sabbath) to just rock 'n' roll (Motorhead, Van Halen, AC/DC).
Which football team do you support?
Kevan: Manchester United, and it looks like they are going to regain the premiership title from those Chelsea bastards. Go Reds.
Mike:i don't follow football, but i like the ultimate fighting championship:
Roger: Baseball is the only Sport I follow.
Jake: I don't do sports, it's not my thing.
Your plans for the future (gigs, new album)?
Kevan: It looks like we will have a new full length out by this summer. We
are doing a couple Fl dates with Gang Green from Boston. And then this
summer we will be heading up the east coast with NYC's Murphys Law. Then
maybe a week in Cali.
Mike:record a new record for dirty mick records, and tour with murphy's law this summer Roger: To make albums as long and often as we can..Piss off some up tight asswipes.
Jake:I plan on staying with Suburban Lockdown for as long as possible. Hopefully release some new albums, get our name out to more locations (which I can see is already happening), and eventually tour across seas and across the U.S. I'll also be making some appearances
What do you think of politics (right-wing or left-wing) ?
Mike:personally, i would describe my politics as left, but i really am not concerned with politics in music. i know what i believe, and am secure with that. what your politics are is fairly irrelevant to me.
Roger: Politics and Religion to me are very private..I try to write about social issues.
Jake: I don't follow politics because, well fuck it! I think what i want to think, classify it how you will.
Kevan: I woud like to say l fall greater to the liberal side of things but
in the end there is always someone in bed with someone else, especially here
in the U.S. where special interest groups basically pull everyones strings.
Politics suck and there may not be any way to change the corruption without
legislation to put it to an end. But I dont see that happening anytime
soon. As our population grows the majority of people grow stupider and the
majority of people are too engaged in trying to put food on their table and
take care of their families or chase our new capitalistic distractions then
worry about whats going on in the world. We are basically becoming a
watered down society.
What do you think of the scene today?
Mike: it depends on what scene, buy as far as i can tell, the kid's are alright.
Roger: I think it's getting better then it was a few years ago...More kids are starting to get into true punk instead of this whimpy ass whiney emo/Pop punk crap.
Kevan: Its different wherever you go and always comes in cycles. I am just waiting for this new indie/emo scene to die out, or someone to give it a
good publicised kicking.
Jake:I haven't been too active in the "scene" lately, because Florida gets dicked on good punk shows and such. TOUR TO FLORIDA! But seriously, I'm glad we're getting the chance to help keep the scene alive and hopefully help to make it grow.
Any last words?
Mike: every thug needs a lady.
Roger: Go out buy our albums..come to our shows because we are incredible hahaha
Jake: No, not really.
Kevan: Hey we got a new drummer and he is not a complete weirdo. Well for
drummer anyway. |
