Crashed Out (21/12/07)
A quick history of the band.

Crashed Out formed in 1995 their first album: 'This is our Music' was released in 1996 and in 1998 the second 'Here Now & Real' album was born. The band have appeared on lots of Street punk comps over the years and in 2000 a new line up was formed ie: Chris on vocals and Decca on drums this is the Crashed Out you see today. 2001 and the third album Back For More was self released and a track was taken from that and used on the Captain oi records comp: Addicted to oi. The band have played extensively here in the UK and also all over Europe we have played with bands such as Stiff Little Fingers, The Exploited, Angelic Upstarts, UK Subs, Anti No-Where League, Girlschool, Argy Bargy, Deadline, The Lurkers, Holy Racket, Cockney Rejects, to name but a few. 2003 and we had a best of Crashed Out cd released on dss records called 'Working Class Aggression' this included the best of the three previous albums. 2005 we have a split single out with The Templars from USA and our new cd is now out on the Captain Oi Record Label here in the UK. So 2006 has been a cracking year for us loads of great reviews for the new album and some brilliant gigs with bands such as Exploited, Stiff Little Fingers, Misfits and the mighty Rancid to name just a few. Also Chris has been asked to preform vocal duties for none other than Angelic Upstarts as Mensi has taken ill. Chris was personally asked by Mensi to play the gigs that the band had committed themselves too for 2006. We have a west coast USA tour under our belts that was a great success and gained us a record deal with US label SOS records, that's it for now folks, roll on 2007

How would you describe your music?

Street Rock 'n' Roll, we have the punk attitude with a punk sound but we also have a rock edge to our music.

What are your influences?

We are influenced from all kinds of stuff, we have a few songs with humour about strange things thats happened to us over the years or wierd folk we've met. We also have songs about social issues and just life in general. We try not to bang on about the same old topics that allot of band do over and over again and again ie: football, politics e.t.c
Musically we are influenced by a vast array of different kinds artists some that spring to mind and in no particular order are: Cock Sparrer, Angelic Upstarts, Dickies, Rancid, AC/DC, Jimmy Hendrix, Toy Dolls, Del Shannon, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Lars n the Bastards, Exploited, Motorhead, The Business, Dropkick Murphys, Bob Marley, Elvis
Presely, Greenday, Anti nowhere League. The list could go on and on. But thats the general idea rock punk rock n roll it all plays a part in our sound.

Which football team do you support?

Newcastle United

Your plans for the future (gigs, new album)?

We play live all the time we already have a batch of gigs coming through for 2007 weve just finished a US tour and we are back  out there
in May 2007. We are starting our new mataerial after the new year but not sure when it will be released or who through.

What do you think of politics (right-wing or left-wing) ?

If a band wants to bang on about politics then thats there business, but me personally I dont think it should play a part in our scene or music I find it  fucking boring to be honest. If I want to see a band I want to be entertained and have a good time not preached too and be put on a downer.

What do you think of the scene today?

The punk / Oi scene seem very healthy at the moment we've never worked so hard as we did last year we played with Stiff Little Fingers The Misfits The Damned Anti Nowhere League Rancid and loads of others. We played in Germany USA France Finland Norway and all over the UK. All the gigs were great and some fucking amazing! we had people of all ages coming to see us. So 'yeah' I think its going very good. Its also great to see so many young kids getting into the scene nowadays. Its healthy and its fresh!!!
