De Kattenren
This page contains a few pictures of the newly built cats' pen. Even though it may look a bit odd to be in a "cage" myself when i go out, i could not care less about that! The fact that my cats can enjoy the outside without any harm being done to or by them is more important. The top of the pen is covered with a nylon net - normally used to protect seedlings from birds it now keeps my cats inside.
Because the back door as well as the doors from the living room open into the pen this means i can finally enjoy some fresh air in the house at a warm late-summer evening. Before the pen was built, i kept all doors closed. Not funny in a heat-wave!
The only thing to do now is "furnish" it with a few planks for the cats to sit on - preferrable high and of course in the right spot to catch the first/most sunlight.
The back of the pen is closed off, but can be exited via a door. Through the fence you can see the rest of the garden. It was almost entirely tiled two months ago. Finally, i can keep up with gardening. I don't have much of a green thumb...
Looking back onto the house - the doors can open without the cats getting away. Great in the summer!
View of the pen from teh living room doors. Both cats are obviously enjoying the weather, the tiles were expertly coloured with chalk by Marlies.
I'm not much of a sunbather, but this little IKEA set allows me to have a cup of coffee or a chat with friends outside.
