| the bio from the old version for the website: la historia de departure from apathy: DFAs first band practice was on january 24th, 2003, a practice preluded by a several year search for a decent drummer. after MANY failed attempts at getting anything together (i.e. junior and the texas death machine, haha), i (tyler) was still eager to start something. early on the proposed roster was me on guitar, Nick on 2nd guitar, and a pre-shaved Sean Mooril on bass. now, that didnt really last for too long, since sean remembered that he didnt even like hardcore. go figure. so, anyway, nick and i soon discovered and adopted Shawn Huber, a *nice, but gross* boy getting into hardcore. it soon became apparent that Shawn played bass guitar, so, yeah, new bassist. now, in our desperate search for a decent drummer (we asked pretty much EVERYONE and even made flyers) we stumbled accross the (now defunct) guided by fire opening a show at the edge in augusta. they were way better than we expected, so we decided to ask if anyone played the drums. so Chris, who played guitar for GBF is all like, *yeah.* and were like *sweet.* yeah, so theres our drummer. now, somehow Charlie ended up as vocalist for a very brief period, and we had a couple short of practices (which sounded like poop) with a makeshift drumset of like a bass drum and some pots and shit (which also sounded like poop). charlie soon left and nick realized he didnt entirely know how to play the guitar. so nick took over vocals, and we picked up friend-of-Chris Tyler Stevens on second guitar, pending the acquisition of a drum set. it soon became obvious that Chris was in no position to purchase a drum set (no money), so i bought a whole fucking set myself, cuz im like crazyman67 or something. anyway, now we were a band. we had our first few practices, and we really didnt have 2 guitar parts, so tyler just eased on out of the band, as a 4-piece we donned the DFA name and began making music. end.
