November: None
December: PTSA on December 10th, Galleria Mall December 12, Holiday Concert on December 14
Plus a possible trip to Biltmore House and an elementary school.
January: Winter Fest, Basketball Game,
February: Black history Month Assembly, submit tape to Essentially Ellington Contest
March: Elementary and Middle School Visits
April: Mercer Jazz festival or some similar festival, continue middle school performances
May: Spring Concert, New Orleans Trip, GMEA Jazz Festival, multicultural fair
We will practice at least once a week. Right now it is on Monday's 4-6 PM. Regular attendance is vital to our success and your continued participation. We will do community performances as time and opportunity presents them. We will perform a ride range of musical styles and the expectation is that music be prepared outside of rehearsal. You will need to purchase a jazz band shirt, if you do not own one, and we are looking in to purchasing a more formal looking performance outfit. There is no fee for jazz band but extra trips, i.e., Biltmore House and Mercer Jazz Festival, will have a cost associated with it.
