Vida and Michael are the parents of two Red Regiment members. Aaron is a junior trumpet player and Rachel is a junior Color Guard member.
Our newsletter hasn't always been in the same format, and often is not like a designed newsletter format, but does provide up to date information. The function of this committee is real cut and dry: To put out as much information going on in the Red Regiment as possible to as many people as possible. Accomplishing this is not as easy as it sounds. This committee puts out the newsletter - they are not the reporters. That is, they don't go to each section to find out when sectional rehearsals are, doesn't automatically know when meetings are, when the fundraisers are due, which props go where, etc. UNLESS SOMEBODY TELLS THEM. That is why all of us are actually members of the Newsletter committee. Better to tell this committee (when you volunteer) more than once than not at all. If they get told the same information twice or even three times, it will validate the story and no harm is done.
Deadlines for the newsletter will be established shortly and if you have anything that you want the Red Regiment to know about (concerning band and color guard activities or not) PLEASE email officers with information and volunteering to spearhead this important function of the group. This is routinely a complaint that this communication is not good enough for the group - We only have ourselves to look for the solution. |
