Field for the LifeLike NASCAR Support Race.

First race of the day was the LifeLike NASCAR Support race. All 7 racers got in as much practice as possible to find the right setup for NHR.
Sticking with the NASCAR theme, the first points race of the day followed the support race. The Tyco Poly-Stock NASCARs took to the track. again racers took as much time as possible to dial in their setups before qualifying began.

The day started early for a few racers who attended the final race of the 2001 OHORA Spring Shootout. Neil and Gilles both made the trip from Sudbury again, while Jody and Shane made the trip from London. Due to a slight misunderstanding the remaining racers (from Newmarket) arrived the latest at around 1PM.
Track owner Steve opened the doors around noon. The track opened for practice while waiting for the other competitors to arrive....
Qualifying for the Tyco NASCARs was up first. Qualifying at NHR is done using a Crash'n'Burn format. Deslotting before your time is up ends your run and your best time is recorded. Using this format a driver must decide how they will drive...too aggressive and you come out, ending your qualifying run...too soft and you'll have a slow qualifying time.
Top qualifier for the class today was Ed who managed to record a 6.989sec lap, giving him starting lane preference.
