The Fun Days That Will Never End

Childhood memories can be used as an inspiration for writing. Such childhood memories may seem insignificant; however, it is these experiences that can really impact a person and last a lifetime. Childhood memories are precious and cannot ever be replaced because a person is only a child once in his or her life.
When I was a child, there was not a single day that I did not hang out with my close friend and neighbor, Liz. During the weekdays, I would go over her house and during the weekends, she would come over mine. Liz had two large dogs, one black one and one grey and white one. The black one was Spark, and the other was Chunky. Spark was always so energetic, constantly running around and barking; on the other hand, Chunky was a little more lazy, calm, and enjoyed just eating and sleeping. Liz also had a cute little ferret, which did not have a name. Her ferret was very small, grey, fuzzy, and adorable. Its fur was very soft and it was very friendly. Lizs ferret loved to be let loose to roam her house and even sat to watch television with Liz and me during warm afternoons. During the weekdays of the summer, Liz and I had a daily routine where I would visit her house; we would play with her pets and then go swimming in her pool which was located in her backyard. The pool was a circular shape and was not big at all; however, since we were so young, the pool seemed to be much larger than it actually was.
Every weekend my family would hold a barbeque; we would invite friends, family, neighbors, business acquaintances, and of course Liz. The barbeque was held to the left side of my house, where we also had a swing-set and slide. Usually we invited approximately 15 people; much of the food we had was Korean, and we also had hamburgers and hotdogs. There was always ample food and cold drinks for everyone. The drinks were mostly soda or fruit juices such as apple juice or orange juice. Liz and I would spend most of our time just chatting about school while swinging on the swings. Although we did basically the same thing throughout the whole summer, we never seemed to become bored. Every moment we spent together created another memory that I can look back on.
These childhood experiences are from so long ago yet appear so clearly in my mind. Although I have not seen Liz in the longest time, the irreplaceable memories that we had together will stay with me forever.

back!
