"The angle of death has again visited our peaceful little city and added another to the white-robed throng who are at the right hand of the Father. Another husband, father and brother has been called home.
Madison B. Peed died at his residence in this city, Sunday afternoon, Nov. 27, at 5-30 o'clock, aged 34 years, 5 months and 12 days. Mr Pead was one of Meade Center's pioneers, having moved here from old Touzalin in June, 1885. He contracted among the first buildings that were erected in Meade Center. In January, 1886, he was elected first regular county clerk of Meade county, which office he filled with honor to himself and usfulness to the county. He has proven one of our best citizens, beloved by all who knew him. A member of the Knights of Pythias, he was ever faithful in pracitce of the tenents of that order. .....
The funeral services were conducted by Manaroya Lodge No. 40, K. of P., by whom the following resolutions of respect were passed:
CASTLE HALL, MANAROYA LODGE NO. 40, K. of P....."
"Julia Peed, 94, 2705 Asbury Drive died Monday at her home after a shore illness. Born Sept. 28, 1886 at Meade., she was a retired school teacher. She attended the University of Chicago...."
