SPENCE, Zacariah - Born Carrol Co., W.Va. August 24, 1840, son of James &
Nancy (Watson) Spence. He came to this county 1866, married May 1, 1874 in
Putnam Co., W.Va. Rachel Lambert, daughter of Jeremiah & Mary (Fetty)
Lambert. They had 4 children. SAFFORD, L.M. - Born here August 22, 1830, son
of Robert & Almira (Cubbage) Safford. He married December 31, 1856 to Johanna
Spicer born Lawrence Co., Ohio September 5, 1835, daughter of David &
Elizabeth (Rial) Spicer. They had: Elizabeth, Charles, E., Lydia C., Mattie
L., Alice L., David R., Lena M., Thomas, Emma, Nolia and Edna P.

SERRIERE, George - Born here February 18, 1817, son of Francis and Nancy
(Sanns) Serriere who came to this county in 1818. He married April 14, 1856
Clarinda Cottrell born here December 19, 1830, daughter of Edward & Rhoda
(Langford) Cottrell who came here in 1809. George & Clorinda had: James,
George, John, Eliza, Henry, Edward and Francis.

SHOEMAKER, John L. -Born here July 9, 1836, son of John & Nancy (Carter)
Shoemaker. He married February 3, 1877 to Rachel S. Irvin born Jefferson Co.,
Ohio May 4, 1852, daughter of John G. & Jerushie (Sainer) Irvin. 3 children.

STUART, Charles - Born Guernsey Co., Ohio, son of Robert & Letitia (Scott)
Stuart and came to this county 1846. He married here October 12, 1848 to
Missouri J. McCall born here November 12, 1831. They had: James, Letitia,
John T., Wm. S., Mary, Rachel, America, Anna, Chas., Orrie. STIRLING, David -
Born Duntoher, Scotland, April 8, 1835, son of David B. & Wilhelmina
(Ferriage) Stirling. He married 1st Mary ____, born December 25, 1840,
Nottoway, Co., Va. and died July 22, 1874. They had: Wilhelmina, John,
George, Elizabeth and Anna. He married 2nd Martha Phenix May 9, 1875 she was
born Petersburg, Va. May 28, 1845, daughter of John & Elizabeth Phenix. They
had Olive and Mary. SUMMERS, Charles H.D. - Born here October 20, 1858, son
of James Harvey & Elizabeth Hannah Summers. James H. Summers soldier of Civil
war.

TOBIN, Wesley, - Born Guernsey Co., Ohio May 3, 1831, son of Isaac & Matilda
A. (Benton) Tobin. Isaac born July 1800 in Loudon Co., Va. and died October
9, 1881. He married Matilda Benton in 1834 and had Wesley, Wm., Edward, James, John, Elizabeth, Isaac and Samuel. Wesley married March 4, 1854 to
Mary A. Danner born here June 12, 1832, daughter of Jacob & Sarah A. (Gaskin)
Danner, natives of this county. They had: Sonorah (Swanson), John W., Wesley,
Mary & Lolia C. Wesley came here in 1851. He had brothers William, Edward,
James, John, Isaac, Samuel and sister Elizabeth. Mary had brothers James &
John.

TURNER, Wm. Henry - Born here July 4, 1829, son of Jonathan & Mary D.
(Collins) Turner who came here in 1828. He married in Meigs Co., Ohio April
24, 1861 to Annis Thompson, daughter of Pierce & Elizabeth (Beeson) Thompson.
They had one son Luther B. Jonathan in War of 1812. TYLER, Abner Johnson
Holcomb - Born here August 24, 1844, son of George & Olive (Holcomb) Tyler
who were both raised in this county. Abner married November 18, 1866 to Sarah
Elizabeth Bard born Columbiana Co., Ohio July 20, 1848, daughter of George &
Levina J. (Pancake) Bard who came here in 1853. Abner & Sarah have Eve and
George. TATE, James C. - Born Venango Co., Pa. May 26, 1833, son of David &
Letitia (McLahaney) Tate who came here 1839. David born May 6, 1799 in Center
co., Pa., son of James Tate, War of 1812 soldier. Letitia born June 15, 1802.
James C. married 1st Mary Sisson and had daughter Laura. He married 2nd Nancy
Jane Morrow born Jackson Co., Ohio January 27, 1840, native of Meigs Co.,
Ohio, daughter of John & Elizabeth (Tidball) Morrow, both natives of Penna.
John born July 1794 and Elizabeth born March 31, 1800. James & Nancy had:
lillie, Homer, Mary, Sarah, Hugh, Harriet and Grace.

TATE, William - Brother of James C. (above) born Venango Co., Pa. October 9,
1835. He married June 13, 1858 to Nancy B. Tenney born Trumbull Co., Ohio
January 23, 1835, daughter of Jonathan & Sarah K. (Yemmons) Tenney who
settled here in 1841. Jonathan born 1801 and Sarah born 1798. Wm. & Nancy
had: Celia, Joseph, Luny, Wallace, Laura and Harry. THORNILEY, WAlter S. -
Born Washington Co., Ohio September 22, 1832, son of Philip V. & Nancy C.
(Martin) Thorniley. Philip V. born December 14, 1799. He married 1st Mary J.
Williamson born March 26, 1833 and died September 20, 1872, daughter of
Charles & Martha (Martin) Williamson. Charles died 1857 and Martha died 1859.
Walter & Nancy had: Charles W., Philip V., (lived Cabell Co., W.Va.) Walter &
Anna, twins, Martha, Willis and Mary. He married 2nd Sallie A. Racer born
Washington Co., April 26, 1835, daughter of Dennis & Roena (Jett) Racer, and
were married in Washington Co., August 10, 1864. Had Lucinda born August 24,
1875. Philip V. Thornley here in 1822.

THOMAS, Abraham - Born Cardiganshire, Wales October 2, 1830, son of David &
Jessie Dinah (Gray) Thomas who settled here in 1837. Abraham married here
Elizabeth Jones October 19, 1858. She was born Cardiganshire, Wales March 12,
1834, daughter of John & Elizabeth (Samuel) Jones who settled here in
1838,and donated land for 1st Welsh church and cemetery in Perry Township.
Abraham & Elizabeth had: Samuel, David, Lizzie, Jessie, John, Daniel, Gomer and Abraham.

TRACKLER, Joseph - Born here June 1, 1850 son of John Trackler & Hannah
(Fisher) Trackler. John born in Shenandoah Valley and came here 1802, age 9.
Hannah born in Germany and came to this county age 19. Joseph married June 1,
1880 to Amanda (Mason) Fisher born July 13, 1853, daughter of Isaac &
Charlotte (Robertson) Mason. She native of Putnam Co., W.Va and married 1st
Wm. M. Fisher November 17, 1872. William born Germany and to this county age
3. He died February 22, 1880. Wm. Fisher & Amanda had: Carrie and Ernest.
Amanda had brothers, Stephen D. & Theodor Mason and half brother Chas R. Dury
in in Civil war. TUCK, Andrew M. - Born in W.Va. September 27, 1828, son of
Anthony & Jane (Richey) Tuck who came here in 1840. Andrew married in Mason
Co., W.Va. 2nd wife Eliza A. Rice, daughter of Jacob & Lucy. 1st wife Sarah
Carter.

TROTTER, William - Born in Va. April 25, 1808, son of William & Mary (Cooper)
Trotter who came here in 1817. William married in Harrison Twp. December 27,
1832 to Rosannah Houck born Bedford Co., Va. March 28, 1814, daughter of
Felty & Susan (Kerns) Houck. William & Rosannah had: Frances, Elizabeth
(Gilmore), Mary (Waugh), Armena (Lindle), John (lived Mo.), Marion, Nancy
(Frownfelter), Sarah, Phebe (Earwood), Wm. and Thomas VAUGHN, Jacob - Born
Fayette Co., Pa. December 20, 1814, son of Thomas & Rebecca (Dunham) Vaughn.
Thomas was born in Penna. September 2, 1787 and died Jackson Co., Ohio March
7, 1871 and was War of 1812 soldier under Gen. Harrison. After the war he
married Rebecca Dunham of Penn. and came to Jackson Co., Ohio 1822. Rebecca
died November 29, 1846. They had 10 children. Jacob married in Jackson Co.,
Ohio February 19, 1839 to Julia A. Fowler born March 24, 1820, native of
Mongahela Co., W.Va. Julia daughter of Nehemiah & Mary (Thompson) Fowler, who
came here in 1864. Jacob & Julia had: Thomas, Mary (Ratekin)(lived Richardson
Co. NE), John F., James W., Margaret (Wilcox), Susan (Hanger), Sarah
(Glassburn), Amanda (Kelly), Phebe and Cynthia.

URWIN, Thomas - Born Falling Rock, W.Va. July 15, 1850, son of John & Elner
(Baker) Urwin who came to this county in 1815. VARNEY, John - Born Jackson
Co., Ohio April 1, 1819, son of Jedediah & Hannah (Hines) Varney. Hannah came
to this county in 1812. John married here December 24, 1846 Susanna Rawson,
born here December 25, 1823, daughter of James & Mary (Cline) Rawson. Mary
Cline here in 1816. John & Susanna had: Mary, Sarah, Lydia, Charles, Julia,
John, Ella and Kate.

WATTS, Andrew - Born Greenbriar Co., W.Va. June 7, 1807, son of David &
Elizabeth (Morrison) Watts who came here in 1817. Andrew married 1st here
October 3, 1833 to Martha G. Waddell born this county June 25, 1814 and died
March 12, 1841, the daughter of William & Mary (Ross) Waddell. They had: Mary
E., Sarah (lived Karnes Co., TX), and William W. He married 2nd mary A. Thompson born in this county March 16, 1819, daughter of John and Miriam
(Waddell) Thompson who settled in this county 1801. Andrew & Mary had: John
A. (lived Dewitt Co., TX), David, Martha (Ramsey), Miram (Hott), James A.,
Charles E. died young, and Charles A. David (above) born March 27, 1845,
daughter of William M. & Jeanette (Martin) Cherrington. They had: Wm. A.,
George, Charles, Perly and David A. WATTS, Ross S. - Born Greenbrier Co., Va.
January 10, 1828, son of John & Isabel (Waddell) Watts who settled here in
1852. He married 1st in Greenbrier Co., Va. June 8, 1852 to Susan Bunger born
June 7, 1833 and died September 2, 1858, daughter of Michael & Margaret
(Hutsinpiller) Bunger. They had margaret and Isabella. Ross married 2nd
Elizabeth Cherrington, in this county December 8, 1859, daughter of Jefferson
& Mary (Hank) Cherrington. Mary born here November 22, 1837. Her father also
born here in 1806. Ross & Elizabeth had: William, Mary, Jefferson C., Martha,
Frank, Millie and Artie.

WATTS, J.A.C. - Born Greenbrier Co., W.Va. July 28, 1839, son of John &
Isabel (Waddell) Watts who came to this county 1852. J.A.C. married October
31, 1860 to Margaret Donnally born here August 10, 1840, daughter of James &
Diantha (Chamberlain) Donnally who came here in 1801. J.A.C. & Margaret had:
Anna, Homer, Clara, Ibbie, Sallie and Myrtie. Diantha had 4 brothers in Civil
War: James, John, Charles and Joseph. J.A.C. had brother David C. in Civil
War.

WATTS, James W. - Born here January 19, 1851, son of Dr. W.M. & Mary
(Campbell) Watts. He married September 22, 1878 to Euphernia Hill born
September 3, 1856, daughter of Wiley & Sarah E. (Coverston) Hill. They had
daughter Mary. Euphernia had brother George Hill in Civil War.

WATKINS, William - Born Surry Co., N.C. September 4, 1790, son of James &
Lydia (Vincent) Watkins. He married in Surry Co., N.C. in 1810 to Mary
Lawles, daughter of Presely & Anna (Harrison) Lawles. William & Mary and
their parents came to this county 1811. Wm. & Mary had: Jefferson, Lucinda
(Hayes)(lived Meigs Co., Ohio), Sarah (Radikius)(lived Neb.), Mary
(Sprague)(died in Ill.), Johnson V., Jane, Presley, Francis (Sprague) (lived
Ill.), Alvy H., Eliza died young, Junius L., and Anna (Young). Junius L.
(above) born 1831 married Olive Randolph in this county June 7, 1855, the
daughter of James F. & Lettes Randolph. She was born here October 8, 1838.
She had brothers Job F. and James Randolph in Civil War. Junius & Olive
Watkins had: O.J. died young; E., died young; E., died young; India born
1857; James J.; Edward; Willie D; and Nettie (Randolph) adopted, born 1875.

WOMELDORFF, Francis M. - Born here January 12, 1838, son of Michael and Jane
(Waddell) Womeldorff. Michael came to this county in 1801 and married Jane
Waddell in 1812 and had 12 children. Francis married Silvina V. Morrison born
here May 23, 1836, daughter of William and Louisa C. (Pilcher) Morrison. They were married March 16, 1859 and had: Lulu (Cushman), Lewis M., died young,
Carrie D., Harry M., Lue A., died young, Fred M., George E. and Osie V.

WOOD, Sylvester P. - Son of William M. and Mary (Koontz) Wood. William was
born in Va. August 7, 1804 and Mary born March ?9, 1827 in Rockingham Co.,
Va. and came to this county 1805. They had 7 children. Mary died April 5,
1857. William M. married 2nd Sarah Shiers, December 16, 1858. They had
Winfield S. who died young and Julia W. born 1861. Sylvester married 1st
September 22, 1852 to Elizabeth Bing born February 14, 1830, daughter of
William and Mary (Mauck) Bing. She died April 7, 1869. They had Mary, Wm.,
Margaret, Nanny P., Elmore E., and Ida B. He married 2nd Lucretia Cahoon born
here February 18, 1843, daughter of William C. & Evaline (Wood) Cahoon. They
were married May 14, 1871. Her parents came to this county in 1808. Her
father died June 5, 1860 and mother died November 22, 1870. Lewis R. Wood,
brother of Sylvester (above) born May 17, 1833, married here April 17, 1856
Elizabeth Brandbury, daughter of Henry and Mary (Blagg) Brandbury. Lewis and
Elizabeth had: Wm. P., Harrison H., Laura and Flora, twins, and Charles E.

WOOD, Harrison - Born Charleston, W.Va. September 7, 1802, son of Nehemiah
and Eva (Ruffner) Wood, who came here in 1805. Nehemiah died September 21,
1824 born here February 9, 1806, daughter of Adam and Mary (Koontz)
Rickabaugh who came to this county in 1800. Harrison and Mary were married
September 18, 1825 and had: Bethsama born 1827, Andrew J. born 1829, John H.
born 1831, Caroline born 1832 and David R. 1835-1871. Eva died July 15, 1835.
Harrison married 2nd April 6, 1840 to Mary (Mauck) Bing, widow of Wm. Bing by
whom she had Nancy Bing born July 13, 1828 and Elizabeth Bing born February
14, 1830. Mary was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Buzwell) Mauck. She
was born April 19, 1806 and died February 9, 1868. Harrison married 3rd
Permelia (Ridgeway) Atwood, widow of Nehemiah Atwood, who died December 1869
and had no children. Permelia was born 1802 and was daughter of David and
Elizabeth (Wagoner) Ridgway. Harrison and Permelia were married November 1,
1870 and had no children. Andrew J., son of Harrison killed in Civil War.
John H. Wood (Above) born February 18, 1831 married April 8, 1868 to Amantha
S. Roach, born here June 2, 1839, daughter of Simeon and Diana (Koontz)
Roach. Simeon roach came to this county from Rockingham Co., Va. in 1828.
John and Amantha had: Harry, Mary, Carrie and Nellie.

WILLIAMS, David B. - Born Carnarvonshire, Wales, June 14, 1828, son of
William and Elizabeth (Thomas) Williams. His parents both born the same day
and died the same day in October, 1862 and are buried in the same grave at
Oakhill, Ohio. David married December 28, 1860 to Anna J. James born in
Pittsburgh, Pa., April 6, 1838, daughter of William and Amelia (Meredith)
James, who came to this county in 1854 and removed to Nebraska in 1870 where
William died in 1872. William and Amelia James had sons David W. and John M.
James in Civil War. David B. and Anna Williams had: Wellington, William, Effie, Charles and Nellie.

WARNER, Arthur Wellesley - Born Washington Co., Ohio August 27, 1813, son of
Anaximander, and Lucretia (Porter) Warner. The father died May 31, 1843 and
the mother died 1859. Arthur W. married here March 1, 1837 to Mary J.
McCarley, daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Boggs) McCarley both of whom were
born in this county. Samuel died March 11, 1841. Samuel and Charles Topping
laid out the town of Harrisburg which was surveyed by Joseph Fletcher. Arthur
and Mary had: Virginia born 1841 and died young; Frances E (Kerr) born 1842,
Emma L. (Howe) born 1845, Florence J. (Cerr)? born 1848, Cyrus D. born 1851,
and Mary B. (Weed) born 1856. Mary, the wife of Arthur died July 7, 1878.
Cyrus D. Warner (above) born Jun 8, 1851 married Malinda A. Frederick born
here in 1847, daughter of Henry and Hannah (Ewing) Frederick. 4 children.

WILKENSON, Joseph - Born Durham County, England March 19, 1814, son of
Matthew and Elizabeth Wilkenson. Elizabeth came to this county 1832 here in
1832. Joseph married in Westmoreland Co., England, January 6, 1842 to Mary
Workman. Joseph and Mary had: George W. (lived N. Mex.), Thomas C. 1845-1878,
Joseph, Wm. W. (lived Ark.), Mary (lived in Ind.), Coradelia, and Matthew D.
