JOHNSTON, Robert C - Son of Samuel and Elizabeth (previously) born this
county March 22, 1839. He married May 23, 1869 Ada Hutsinpiller born in this
county August 2, 1847, daughter of David and Maria Hutsinpiller (see
previously) Robert had brothers and sisters William died young, Harriet,
Letitia, Eleanor, Margaret, James (surgeon in Civil war), John, (Samuel),
Robert and Mary. JENKINS, David T. - Born May 6, 1843, Jackson Co., Ohio, son
of Thomas and Leah (Evans) Jenkins. Thomas and Leah settled in this county
1857 and they had besides David, William T., Evan T., Mary, John T., Walter,
T., Daniel T. and Elizabeth. Leah died 1873. David T. married 1870 Jane Isaac
born in Wales April 20, 1857, daughter of John and Mary (Phillips) Isaac who
settled in this county 1848 and had besides Jane, John I., David, Elizabeth,
William, Isaac N. and Mary A. David and John died 1859. David and Jane had 7
children.

JENKINS, Evan T. - Brother of David T. (above) born December 22, 1848 at
Cambria Furnace, Jackson Co., Ohio. He married 1870 Mary Ann Evans, born
April 14, 1851, this county, daughter of David & Ann Evans. Her father died
1851 and her mother was born 1812. Evan's mother was born 1818. Evan and Mary
had 5 children. JENKINS, George W - Born April 6, 1837, son of William and
Elizabeth (Williams) Jenkins. He married September 29, 1858 Abigail White,
daughter of Nicholas and Mary (Angel) White. Abigail born February 9, 1838,
Clay Twp. They had 4 children.

JOHNSTON, James - Born May 12, 1834, this county, son of Samuel and Elizabeth
(Cherrington) Johnston (see previously). He married 1857 Augusta Bradbury
born February 11, 1840 daughter of Asa and Electa (Harding) Bradbury. They
had 3 children. He was a surgeon in Civil war.
KERR, Charles W. - Born April 22, 1851 in this county, son of John N. and
Caroline (Cherrington) Kerr. He married November 6, 1873 in this county,
Ibbie J. Watts, born April 2, 1855, Greenbrier Co., W.Va., daughter of Ross
S. and Susan (Bunger) Watts who came to this county, 1852. They have 4
children: Frank born 1874, Homer born 1876, Ross born 1879 and Merrill born
1881.

KERR, Samuel J. - Half brother of Charles W. (above) was born November 6,
1845, son of John N. and Isabella (Morrison) Kerr. He married 1st Sarah E.
Mills born November 6, 1845, daughter of Benjamin F. and Agnes Mills. They
had Benjamin F. born March 23, 1853 in this county, daughter of Ross S. and
Susan (Bunger) Watts. They were married November 10, 1874 and had Nellie born
1876, Augustus P, 1878 and Ibbie 1880. Samuel J. served in Civil war
1862-1865.

KEYE, Frederick H.J. - Born February 10, 184, in Hasselfeld, Brunswick,
Germany, son of Henry and Fredericka (Nierenberg) Keye. He married June 1852
in Hasselfeld Christina F.W. Kroter, daughter of _____ and Wilhelmiena
Kroter. She was born 1828, Rithzithe, Warningerrode, Germany and died in
Germany 1867. They had 5 children. Here 1868.

KERR, John Nisewanger - Father of Charles W. and Samuel J. (previously) born
December 15, 1804, in this county, son of John and Christina (Nisewanger)
Kerr who settled here in 1802. John Kerr was one of the earliest settlers in
the county. John N. Kerr married 1st Isabella Morrison born April 11, 1827 in
this county, daughter of William and Ann (Ireland) Morrison. They had Mary
A., Augustus P., John R., Maria C., James M., Susan C., William M. and Samuel
J. He married 2nd Caroline Cherrington, August 25, 1846, born October 6, 1821
in this county, daughter of John and Ruth (Knox) Cherrington. They had:
Charles W., Harriet (Mills), Charles Warren, Fannie H. (Hutsinpiller), Edward
E., Cassius C., Aleri M. KENNEDY, Cornelius W. - Born February 1, 1826, this
county, son of Cornelius and Jane (Waugh) Kennedy. His father born 1790, died
1833, his mother born October 8, 1795, died 1865; and they were among first
settlers in this county. Their first physician was Dr. Shallcross. Cornelius
W. married November 14, 1850, in Harrison Twp. Frances E. Smith born August
31, 1831, in this county, daughter of William E. and Margaret (Waugh) Smith.
Her father born August 15, 1786, died November 26, 1849; her mother born
December 22, 1794, died January 6, 1860. The grandfather of Mr. Kennedy,
George Waugh died March 8, 1858, age 88 years, and Susan his wife died May
10, 1855, age 93 years. Mr. Kennedy's father was soldier of War of 1812 and
Mr. Kennedy was in Civil war. Cornelius W. and Francis had: Sallemma,
Franklin M., Charles D., (lived Oregon), Andrew J., Elizabeth F., Emma F.,
Leslie W., and Emma F. KING, William A. - Born February 9, 1845, in Ohio
Twp., son of Enos and Elizabeth (Sanders) King, who came to this county 1825.
He married Mary Evans, daughter of Evan and Eliza (Edwards) Evans, in 1868. She was born Ohio Twp., November 25, 1840 and had married 1st Cornelius
Chambers and had one child. William and Mary had 6 children.

KELLER, Robert N - Born November 22, 1837 in Perry Twp., died 1877, son of
Abraham and Susannah (Newsom) Keller. His father born 1787 died 1846; his
mother died 1851. He married Adeliza P. Ripley, born August 11, 1837 in Perry
Twp., daughter of Ammon and Pamelia (Rekard) Ripley. Her grandfather, Joshua
Ripley in War of 1812 and her brother Orville in Civil War, as was her
husband. They had 7 children. Son Calvin removed to Oakdale, Nebraska.
KNIGHT, John J. - Born January 25, 1838 in Wittenberg, Germany, son of Jacob
and Barbara (Hummel) Knight who came to this county 1860, to America 1852. He
married Hannah Goff, born August 31, 1846 in Canada, daughter of Abraham and
Mary (Fair) Goff. They had 7 children. KING, Moses A. - Born January 23, 1820
in Preston Co., W.Va., son of Enos and Phebe (Pugh) King. he married Margaret
V. Pollock, 1844, born Pollock, both deceased. They had 5 children. Son
Stephen killed in Civil war, Thomas A., Mary S., Charles C. and Mordecai.

KERR, James M. - Son of John N. and Isabella (Kerr) (previously), born 1835
in Gallipolis. His grandfather John Kerr was a Revolutionary soldier. He
married Emily Andrews born 1850 in this city, daughter of William C. and Kate
(Haward) Andrews. They had 4 children. James M. was U.S. gauger for 8 years
under U.S. Grant.

LAKIN, Rev. James Q. - Born May 29, 1815 in Fairfield Co., Ohio, son of
Daniel and Theodosia (Shreves) Lakin. His father died 1839 and his mother
died 184. He married 1st June 22, 1836 in Fairfield Co., Ohio Eliza White
born December 11, 1813, died June 2, 1846, daughter of Jesse and Sarah White.
They had: Jesse W. (live Indiana), Mary J.H., William H.S., Francis, Sarah
and Catherine. He married 2nd 1847, Martha A. Vermillion, who died 1862. They
had: Delay F. (died young), Cyrus (lived Iowa), Karleen, Ann Jennet, James
(live Mo.), Alice Grant,, Uriah H. and Eddie. He married 3rd Martha A. Black,
1864, born June 15, 1827, in Ross Co., Ohio, daughter of Charles and Anna
(Rittenhouse) Black. Her father died 1836 and her mother died 1844.

LEWIS, Benjamin - Born Cardiganshire, Wales, died June 10, 1866 age 72, son
of Evan and Elizabeth Lewis, both of whom died in Wales. He married Esther
Jones of Cardiganshire who died March 26, 1822, age 79. She was the daughter
of John Jones who died in N.J. and Mary Jones who died in Wales, They had 10
children several of whom live in Clinton Co., Mo. Sarah J. Davis, niece,
daughter of Wm. W. and Mary Davis resides with them. Her mother died August
1, 1866. LEWIS, William - Born December 30, 1845, son of Samuel and Electa
(Wilcox) Lewis, grandson of William Lewis, War of 1812 soldier who died
September 9, 1855, age 82 and Hannah Lewis who died March 23, 1853 age 79.
Samuel in Civil war. William S. married Sarah J. Cardwell, born May 17, 1836
Huntington Twp., daughter of James D. and Mary (Wood) Cardwell, who settled here in 1831. Her grandfather was in War of 1812 and three brothers in Civil
war, as was her husband. They had 8 children. He had brothers: Hovey, Aaron
(both died young), Perry and Alfred, both in Civil war.

LASLEY, David - Born July 14, 1843 Cheshire Twp., one of 8 children of
Matthew and Rebecca (Eakin) Lasley. His father born October 6, 1815 and
mother born October 16, 1815. David had brothers Jonathan, Joseph, Matthew
and in Civil war as also was David. He married Rilla Mauck, 1866, who was
born Cheshire Twp. January 25, 1849, daughter of Newton E. and Annie
(Rothgeb) Mauck, from Va. to this county. They had 2 children.

LINDSEY, William - Born May 22, 1828, in Warren Co., Pa. and came here 1838,
son of William and Hannah (Lewis) Lindsey, here 1838. His father born July
19, 1793, his mother born March 6, 1798, married 1825. His father married 1st
Margaret (Wilson) September 8, 1814 who died 1825. William had seven members
of his family killed in accidents. Full brothers killed were William, Lewis,
Isaiah, Wilson and half-brothers killed were David, James and Wesley.

LITTLE, George B. - Born March 9, 1830 in Temple Village, Ireland, son of
John and Sarah (Beatie) Little. He married Eleanor Powers 1857, in Lawrence
County, Ohio, born August 9, 1841, daughter of John and Mary Ann (Wiseman)
Powers. Her father was born in this county March 5, 1817 and her mother born
May 7, 1818 in Va. and came to this county 1830; and had three sons, James,
Richard and Robert in Civil war. James and Robert lived in N.Y. City. George
Little came to this county in 1857. They had 3 children. George, Mary and
John P.

LEAR, Henry - Born October 21, 1839 in Dorste, Ostrode County, Germany, son
of August and Caroline (Klages) Lear who settled in this county 1859. Henry
emigrated from Hanover, Germany to Philadelphia, PA in 1854, then to
Pittsburgh and 1859 here. He married 1862 Caroline Klages born January 22,
1843 in Dorste, Germany, daughter of Frederic and Augustine (Wise) Klages
here 1862. They had 6 children.

LOWRY, Lee - Born June 18, 1841, Gap Mills, Monroe Co., W.Va., son of William
L. and Catherine D. (Humphreys) Lowry who were both born in Monroe Co., W.Va.
where Catherine died. He married 1861 Mary Patterson at Salem, Greenbrier
Co., W.Va. born May 3, 1838, daughter of Joseph and Mary B. (Puckett)
Patterson. Her mother born Nelson Co., Va., and lived Greenbrier Co. W.Va.
They had 7 children.

LONG, Dr. Solomon- Born May 8, 1821 in Ash Co., N.C. son of John and Susannah
(Stamper) Long. His father born September 30, 1783, died 1876; his mother
born June 1790. He married 1844 in Wilksborough, N.C. Nancy E. Abshire, born
February 18, 1826 in Wilkes Co., N.C. daughter of William and Elizabeth Abshire. Her father born 1793, died 1847; her mother born 1790. Solomon and
Susannah were married by Rev. S. Stamper. Solomon settled here in 1868. They
had 3 children.

LESLIE, William E. - Born November 13, 1837 in Lawrence co., Ky., son of
William and Nancy (Hall) Leslie. His father born 1795, died 1844; his mother
born 1803, died 1867. Besides William they had 4 sons in the Civil war -
James (now lived Boyd Co., KY), Robert, John (lives Minnesota) and James.
William E. married 1st Elizabeth Rose born April 3, 1845, died 1871. They had
5 children. He married 2nd Henriette Wigner Simmons born March 17, 1844 Perry
Twp., daughter of John and Margaret (Wigner) Simmons. William E. here 1862.
They had 6 children.

LLOYD, Thomas L - Born January 24, 1853 at Howard Furnace, Scioto County,
Ohio, son of Evan and Hannah (David) Lloyd, both deceased when he was age 12,
He married 1880 Martha M. Williams born Walnut Twp., November 7, 1858, died
1881, daughter of John and Mary (Knox) Williams.

LEWIS, Jesse B. - Born November 18,1 827, Lawrence Co., Ohio, son of Samuel
and Mary (Burcham) Lewis who settled here 1830. He married Levina Drummond
born here July 28, 1833, daughter of Thornton and Lucy (Stover) Drummond.
Jesse B. here 1849. They had 8 children.

LOUCKS, William - Born here January 23, 1822, son of Jacob and Ledocia
(Langford) Loucks. He married march 1871 Frances M. Canterbury born April 20,
1851, daughter of Hugh and Louisa (Golden) Canterbury. She was 2nd wife.
William married 1st 1846 Susannah Campbell and had 6 children.

MILLS, John N. - Born 1800 in this county, married Mary A. Waddell born 1806,
this county. They had John E. born February 23, 1840, married April 3, 1861
Lydia Hutsinpiller born November 16, 1843, daughter of David and Maria
(Winsor) Hutsinpiller and had Ross, Anna B., Frank, Charles, and William.
John N. and Mary also had Elza E. Mills born February 16, 1833 married May 6,
1856 Sarah. E. Titus born February 8, 1835 in Onondagua Co., N.Y., daughter
of Leonard and Maria V. (Becker) Titus who settled here 1835. Elza and Sarah
had: Henry, Hattie, Mary, Bert, Fannie, Fred and Helen. John and Mary Mills
also had Dr. W.W. Mills, a surgeon in the Civil war.

MOREHOUSE, Charles S. - Married Lucinda Sisson, settled here 1812. They had
son Daniel W. Morehouse born November 18, 2835, who married Letitia Owen June
28, 1859, who was born February 9, 1837, Beaver Co., Pa., daughter of Edward
Owen and Letitia (Laughlin) Owen, and had Ida (Kerr) and Edward.

MOSSMAN, John - Born Ireland 1790, to America 1811, served in War of 1812
married Grace Odell. Settled first in N.J. then Rockingham Co., Va. then to this county 1828, where he died 1842 and Grace died 1860. They had among
others Thomas born January 25, 1823, Rockingham Co., Va., who married Sarah
B. Womeldorff born December 28, 1827, daughter of Daniel and Sarah (Bing)
Womeldorff. Daniel was a Captain in War of 1812 and was later made a colonel.
Daniel born 1781, Berks Co., Pa.; to Augusta Co., Va. with his father, then
to this county 1801 where he died 1847. Daniel married Sarah Bing June 7,
1821, born Augusta Co., Va. September 6, 1793, here with parents 1799. John
and Grace Mossman has sons John and Andrew in Civil war. Thomas and Sarah
had: Edgar, Daniel and Thomas Mossman.

HOULTON, Albanus A. - Born Roxbury, Mass. March 23, 1848, son of Albanus K.
and Julia (Hall) Moulton. He married Laura Allen, daughter of Walter and
Laura (Hoyt) Allen. Laura born July 16, 1852, Amherst, Ohio.

McCARLEY, Andrew C. -Born February 27, 1823, Jackson Co., Ohio son of
William and Sarah (Boggs) McCarley. Andrew married April 18, 1852 Susanna C.
Woods. Susanna born here February 28, 1822, daughter of Wm. and Rebecca
(Edminston) Woods. Andrew came here 1836. Andrew and Sarah had 5 children.

MACOMBER, Jonas - Born January 13, 1840, son of Lindsay A. and Calphurnia
(Holcomb) Macomber; married Sarah McMillin born January 17, 1834, daughter of
Edward J. and Laura (Holcomb) McMillin and have 5 children.

MARTINDALE, John - Born N.C. soldier of War of 1812, son of James Martindale,
Rev. War colonial. He married Sarah McMillen of Va. They had Alvin R. born
here January 14, 1814 who married Julia Ann Howell born November 5, 1819 in
Jackson Co., Ohio, daughter of Levi and Jannett (Ewing) Howell. They had
John, William and Niles in Civil war, Mary and Virgil. McNEAL, James - Born
April 18, 1811 in W.Va., son of Enoc and Jane (Moore) McNeal, here 1814. He
married Sarah Dodrill born here October 11, 1816, daughter of George and
Sarah (Ewing) Dodrill. They had 11 children: Eliza, Mary, Elizabeth, James,
Charlotte, Martha, Alvira, Almira, Ellen, Margaret and Emma.

MORTON, Thomas T. - Born February 21, 1777 and his wife Ann (Lamb) Morton
came to this county in 1818. Thomas T. died October 18, 1842 and his wife
died April 15, 1855. They had Thomas R. born May 20, 1811 in New York City.
Thomas Jr. married January 4, 1844 to Martha Y. Womeldorff born here November
19, 1825, daughter of Daniel and Sarah (Bing) Womeldorff, both natives of
Augusta Co., Va., and came to this county in 1800. Thomas Jr. and wife had:
Carrie, Fanny, Lilly and Thomas.

MARTINDALE, John A. - Born March 6, 1824 in Meigs Co., Ohio son of David and
Mary (Darst) Martindale who came to this county in 1830. David born 1798 and
died April 30, 1837 and his wife born in this county June 3, 1800 and died
March 10, 1879. John A. married Rhoda Plymale July 25, 1846. Rhoda was born in this county December 16, 1827, daughter of Hugh and Catherine (Cottrell)
Plymale, who were both in this county in 1810. Hugh was born December 25,
1807 and died September 17, 1878 and his wife Catherine born August 16, 1810
and died September 3, 1852. John A. and Rhoda had: David (lived in Nebraska),
Hugh H., Mary (Toman)(lived in Nebraska), Sarepta died young, Elizabeth
(Davis), Joseph J. (live Colo.), Rebecca, Orinda, Missouri, America, John and
Minnie.

MORRELL, Francis E. - Born January 14, 1851 in Stanton, Del., son of Wm. M.
and Mary (Everett) Morrell. Wm. died June 1867 and his wife died February 17,
1866. Francis married in this county September 13, 1876 Sarah Lambert born
October 31, 1860, in this county, daughter of Jeremiah and Mary (Felty)
Lambert who settled here in 1800. Francis and Sarah had 3 children. MILLER,
Henry C. - Born February 17, 1846 in W.Va., son of Adam and Martha (Ward)
Miller, Henry C. married Permelia Hycel, July 11, 1867 in Lawrence Co., Ohio.
She was the daughter of Thomas and Clarca (Massie) Hycel. Henry and Permelia
had: Adam, Author, Cordelia, Sarilda, Ralph, Effa, Clarca, Jasper, Verna.

McCORMICK, John Rodgers - Born August 5, 1806 in this county, son of James
and Irene (Rodgers) McCormick, who came to this county in 1803. John R.
married Sarah Ross Waddell born April 19, 1810 in this county, daughter of
William and Mary (Ross) Waddell who came here in 1810. John R. and Sarah
McCormick had: Wm. H. born 1828, James A. died young, John Watts born 1831,
Mary born 1833 (Halliday), Samuel R. 1836 died young, Sarah born 1837
(Mills), Irene born 1839 (Miles), Martha born 1843, Charles born 1847,
Isabella died young, Romaine married Dr. Ricketts and lived Portsmouth, Ohio.


McFADEN, John P. - Born July 9, 1833, Loudoun Co., Va., son of Timothy and
Mary (Ellis) McFaden. Timothy born 1802 and Mary born 1807. John P. married
Margaret R. Waugh born here October 17, 1844, daughter of William T. and
Sarah (DeWitt) Waugh. John and Margaret had 7 children.

McCALL, Josiah - Born June 24, 1837 in this county, son of James and Martha
(Phelps) McCall who settled here in 1806. Josiah married Annie E. Northup
born August 7, 1838 in this county, daughter of Henry C. and Charlotte
(Gilbert) Northup. Josiah and Annie had: Roena died young, Cyrus, Josiah,
Cora, Theodore died young, and Edward.

MARKIN, William H. - Born December 17, 1816 in Lawrence Co., Ohio and came to
this county in 1838. He married April 5, 1838, Sarah V. Fillinger born in Va.
September 1814, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Ferriel) Fillinger, who came
here in 1832. William and Sarah had: Martha born 1839 married Mr. Stone, died
1875, Elizabeth (Harbour) born 1840, Henry 1841-1868, A.M.(Stewart)
1844-1876, Nancy S. (Brothers) born 1845, Jefferson born 1847, Sarah K. and William born 1849, John born 1854 and Marinda born 1856.

McHALE, Martin - Son of Anthony and Anna (Brogan) McHale who settled here in
1865. Martin married Alice Galligher born Boone Co., W.Va., daughter of Hugh
and Julia (Langon) Galligher. Martin was born in Ireland November 7, 1848.
McBRIDE, George D. - Born June 10, 1837 Butler Co., Pa., son of Alexander and
Mary (Armstrong) McBride. George married Annie E. Stevens in 1867. Annie was
born in this county July 17, 1840, daughter of W.R.B. and Margaret
(Baltezell) Stevens who settled here in 1838. Alex and Mary McBride had 3
sons in the Civil war: Thomas, Wm. and Samuel. MASON, George W. - Born July
1830 in Rockingham Co., W.Va., son of James and Sally (Giles) Mason, here in
1849. George married 1st Hetty Tyrey and had son James H. He married 2nd
Hannah Luddington born 1822 in Greenbrier Co., W.Va., daughter of Franklin
Luddington. George and Hannah had: Mary (lived Paris, Ky), George W. and
Nancy.

MOORE, Edward T. - Born April 5, 1839, Centre Co., Pa., son of Thomas and
Sarah (Richards) Moore. Edward married January 1, 1866, Mattie F. Blake, born
here June 2, 1846, daughter of Anselm and Hannah (Trowbridge) Blake. Edward
and Hattie had: Edward, Frank, Sherwood and Harry. Edward and his father
served in Civil war. His father with Iowa Regiment. NOTTER, Jesse, A. - Born
January 17, 1852 in Lawrence Co., Ohio, son of Francis and Mary (Rich) Notter
who settled her in 1840. Jesse married Elizabeth Houck born here October 14,
1855, daughter of John and Mary (Montgomery) Houck. Jesse and Elizabeth had:
Oscar. Laban, Wilbur and Francis. Jesse had brothers, John and Andrew in the
Civil war.
