| COUNTY NATIVE DIES IN ARIZONA A.G. Eichenauer (Glenn), 77, Apache Junction, Ariz., died Dec 3. He had been seriously ill for the past few months. Born near Celina Dec 15, 1906, his parents were Dan and Flonnie (Rhodes) Eichenauer. Survivors include four children, Glenn, Florida; Mrs. Bob (Delores) Millet, Dayton; Robert, Vandalia; and Mrs. Vern (Arlene) Stanbaugh, Idaho; a brother, Dale, Defiance; two sisters Mrs. AD (Lavaun) Habegger, Mesa, Ariz.; and Mrs. Owen (Leota) Weaver, Celina; and eleven grandchildren. Memorial services were held in Arizona. EICHENAUER RITES MONDAY Ran July 7, 1978 William Eichenauer, 98, 240 Touvelle St, Celina, died at 5:20 pm yesterday at Shane Hill Nursing Home, Rockford. He was born May 28, 1880, in Hopewell Township, the son of Tobias and Elizabeth (Smith) Eichenauer. He married Fannie D. Smith Sept 26, 1901 and she died July 9, 1958. Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Alma Martz Maloney, Celina; two sons, Russell K. and Edgar L., both of Celina; eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. He was preceeded in death by a grandchild, a great-grandchild and a great-great grandchild and was the last surviving of a family of ten. Mr. Eichenauer was a retired school teacher and a farmer, having spent 18 years as a teacher in the Mercer County School system. He also was teacher and Sunday school supervisor for the Hope Evangelical Church for a number of years. He attended Ohio Northern University from 1898-1899 and was a past member of the Hopewell Township school board. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Celina. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday at the church. The Rev RE Willman officiating. Burial will be in the north grove cemetery. |
