Spike a 127 year old vampire, was in life a poet but not a very good one in fact his poetry was bloody afwul. He was sired by Drusilla in 1874 his real name was William but he changed it into Spike because he liked to kill his victims with railroad spike’s. He was in love with Drusilla and took care of her after Angelus get his soul. Spike killed two slayers.

In 1998 he came to Sunnydale to cure his love Drusilla who was weak from an attack in Prague which they barely escaped. In Sunnydale he runs into the current slayer Buffy Summers, but he couldn’t kill her as easy as the other two because Buffy has a reason to live she has her friends family and love Angel. In the meantime Drusilla found a cure in the form of her sire Angel, but before she and Spike could end the ritual Buffy stopped him with the help of an other slayer named Kendra. In their escape Buffy dropped a church organ on Spike witch renders him in a wheelchair. At first Drusilla took care of him but when Angelus came back Drusilla was much more interested in  “Daddy” then in the crippled Spike. When Spike was healed he made a deal with the slayer to defeat Angelus so that he could get out of Sunnydale with Drusilla and never come back. But in Brazil Drusilla dumped him saying he was in love with Buffy and not man enough for her anymore. Spike came back to Sunnydale and kidnapped two of the slayers best friends Xander Harris and Wilow Rosenberg, he hoped that Willow who is a witch could help him get Dru back with a love spell, but after seeing Buffy and Angel who where trying to be only friends he discovered that he just should be the man he was before and he left Sunnydale once again to go after Dru.

  But in 2001 he was back in Sunnydale with a new girlfriend named Harmony Kendell (an former friend and classmate of Cordelia Chase’s who had been turned into a vampire) soon he came into the possession of the gem of Amarra, which made its wearer invulnerable to harm, a property that would allow a vampire to go into direct sunlight. Unfortunately for Spike, Buffy managed to get the ring away from him and send it to La as a gift for Angel, Spike follows the ring to LA but he was not able to get the ring back. Angel eventually destroyed the ring. In yet an other attempt to kill Buffy, Spike appeared on the UC Sunnydale campus, only to be taken captive by commandos. Though Spike managed to escape he had been first implanted with a neural inhibitor that causes him pain every time he attempts to hurt a human being. Desperate for food Spike eventually found himself relying in the goodwill of his former enemies the slayer and friends, who protect him in return for information over the commando boys. At the end of season 4 Spike allied himself with Adam, a monster created by the leaders of the commando boy’s and broke free, after the promise that Adam would remove his chip, but Adam never kept his end of the bargain and was killed by Buffy, so once again Spike is working for the Scooby gang.

In season 5 Spike finds out that he has feelings for Buffy and tries to tell her that but she doesn’t want to hear it and Spike is left once again alone.  

Spike helps the slayerettes in the final battle against Glory a hell god from an other dimension. And sees in horror how the woman he’s madly in love with sacrifice herself.

As a promise to Buffy he takes care of her sister Dawn. Till he finds out that Willow has brought Buffy back from the dead. He becomes Buffy’s confident and she tells him that she was pulled out off heaven.

Buffy and spike still don’t get along and the have a lot off arguments. Till at the end off a bizarre adventure where everybody in Sunnydale is under someone off spell and has to sing, Buffy kisses him.

After that Buffy says she is still repulsive with him , but kisses him again.

Spike and Buffy are on a normal patrol when they fight and Spike notice that he can hurt Buffy. First he thinks the chip mall functioned but then he finds out that Buffy has come back from the dead a little different than human.
