Darla a 400 years old vampire was sired by the Master in the year 1609. She was his favourite and in the year 1753 she came to Galway, Ireland, there she met in an tavern a man named Liam and choose him to be her childe she lured him into an ally, drained him and gave him her blood. They where together for 150 years and killed everyone who came in there way. In 1860 there little family got a new member by the name of Drusilla she is a childe of Angelus and quite mad, and again in the year 1874 there little family became expended this time by William (Spike) who was a child of Drusilla. Angelus was cursed in 1898 and left the family. Darla tried to save him by threatening the leader of the gypsy’s who cursed Angelus only she lost her hold on him when Spike killed his family. Angelus came back one last time to try to become the vampire he was once again, but because of his soul he couldn’t kill people and Darla throw him out of her house. In 1997 Darla meets Angelus again (who calls himself Angel then) and this time it comes to a fight and Angel stakes Darla to save Buffy the woman he’s falling in love with.

In 2001 Darla is resurrected by a law firm called Wolfram and Hart as Human her mission is to make Angel lose his soul again, after a couple of unsuccessful tries Darla discovers that she is diagnosed with an fatal decease and has only a couple of months to live she try’s desperately to become a vampire one’s again which would save her, but Angel doesn’t want to do it and if she tells him about here decease he tries to save her. At the moment that Darla is in peace with her fate Lindsey one of the layers of Wolfram and Hart shows up and brings Drusilla with him. Drusilla sire’s Darla and Darla becomes once again a powerful master vampire. As thanks she and Drusilla killed almost every layer at a party by Holland Manners head of special projects by Wolfram and Heart, the only ones they let live are Lindsey and Lilah so that they still have contacts in the firm.  

Darla tries every plot in the book to take Angels soul away from him so she can be once more with her Darling boy. If even sleeping with him doesn’t seem to work Darla goes away from LA.

Only to come back 9 months later, with a baby inside her. She goes to Angel to seek help. Angel helps her and together with his team they find out that the child is human.

Darla in the meantime really becomes to care for the child but she thinks it is because the child has a soul and since it is inside her she feels that soul.

If she is going to labour and she notice that the child is dying because her body doesn’t have the strength to let the baby into this world she stakes herself.
