1) He hugs afterwards.
Well, he does according to Christian Bale, who sleeps with Ewan in Velvet Goldmine. 'He was really loverly. He hugged me afterwards. But he never writes or phones. Goddamn him!'
2) His job gets him onto trouble.
McGregor was recently strip-searched by US customs officials. 'They recognised me from Trainspotting,' he says, 'and assumed I was carrying heroin.'
3) He's a bloke.
McGregor on coming home from his first day shooting Star Wars: 'I went home and my wife was sitting with a lot of her mates and I go 'I worked with R2D2 today,' and they all looked at me and went, 'Who?' I guess it's a boy thing. The characters in Star Wars arelike people inyour family. When I first met R2D2 I almost went down on the ground.' And finally on his school days, 'I did a very good Princess Leia in theplayground.'
4) He was a child star.
Ewan's first role was playing David (of Goliath fame) in a church play, aged six. The minister remarked in his diary that the play was a 'ragged affair but wee Ewan McGregor was outstandingly good.'
5) He likes a drink.
'I'm very, very, very partial to the margarita. I love any bash and I'm always the last person to leave. I stay right to the fucking bitter end.'
6) He's untamed.
'I'm married and have a kid, but I'm not 'settled down.
7) He's busy.
'It's very hard because of Star Wars to try to find a fucking window for Ewan,' says Jude Law on trying to pin him down on projects with their production company Natural Nylon.
8) He's big.

On being pushed by an interviewer to admit he'd been sleeping with CameronDiaz, he said, 'He was pushing and pushing me and I said 'Oh, she's great' and everything. And then his tape run out. So I looked at him and said 'That's when I fucked her.'
10) He's been crap.
About the movie Emma he said,' I was under the fucking sofa when I was watching Emma. I think the film's alright, but I was so crap. I just thought 'Shut the fuck up Frank!'
11) He gets the women going.
Anna Friel stirred up rumours that she and he got sticky filming Rogue Trader (about Nick Leeson). 'Ewan is the best, he's a wonderful guy.. We were male and female versions of each other.' Mmm, tell that one to the missus.
12) He's loaded.
Sources say he's being paid so much to do the Star Wars prequels that he never need work again.
