IRISH - SHEPARD'S PIE

First off, cook about four large potatoes and mash them as you would normally make mashed potatoes. Set these aside to cool

In a frying pan place the following ingredients and cook, stirring often, until the meat is throughly done.

  • 1 pound ground beef or any ground meat

  • 1 large onion, chopped

  • 2 stalks of celery, thinly sliced

  • 1 cup finely chopped carrots

    Now stir in:

  • 2 Tablespoons flour Then gradually add into this mixture the following:
  • 1/2 can of beef broth

  • 1 small can of peas

    Cook until the mixture boils, stirring constantly. Then add into this:

  • 2 Tablespoons Worshestershire Sauce Remove from heat and spread in the bottom of a 10 X 6 baking dish. Spread the mashed potatoes over the top and bake at 375 degrees for about 25 minutes or until the potatoes are lightly browned.
