I was watching Phish play on Austin City Limits and this occurred to me:

Musician? Whuzzat?

Seems to me that a musician is one who makes music. I think of making music as bringing into existence music where none existed before.

So what stops a music box from being a musician?

I dunno, but I'm guessing that it has something to do with a person willing music into being while a music box just goes through the motions. People can just go through the motions too, but the music box really doesn't have a say in what it does.
