| Cheerleading Gear I have ordered our spankies, bows, and turtlenecks. I will notify you when they arrive so that you can pick them up at your assigned practice. If you did not get your order from and money to me, youneed to get it to me as soon as possible. As of today, I have 45 order forms. There are at least 7 more who need to turn them in so that your child may cheer. All cheerleaders (who will turn 6 and be no older than 12 by August 1) must bring $36.50 to they're next practice. This is to pay for your spankies, turtleneck, and bow. If you child is 5 or younger, or 13 and older, you will need to bring $22.00 to your next practice. This is to pay for your spankies and bow. (If you would like to purchase a white cropped turtleneck, you may.) We will be ordering Purple Duffle Bags that say "Cheerleader" on the side in white. This is a bag that will last many years and its also a good thing to have when you need to keep up with your uniform, shoes, bow, spankies, turtleneck, and many other things you will need to bring to the games, practices, or competition. If you would to order one, please bring $16.00 to your next practice. We will be ordering these next week. Also, we will be ordering Pirate Face tattoos again this year and we will be selling them at the Bake Sale during the games. At games, we will be selling them for $1.00, but we are giving the cheerleaders a change to pre-order them for $0.75 a piece. You will need to bring the money by your next practice. we will also be ordering these next week. (Please note: there are 8 games and 1 competition) Fundraising This'll be our 3rd year having our Raffle Ticket Sale to raise money for mats, uniforms, poms, and many other things the cheerleaders use. Every year we give every cheerleader raffle tickets to sale to their families, friends, or neighbors until a certain deadline. At the last home game, we will tally up all raffle tickets from each cheerleader. One cheerleader from each team, who sold the most raffle tickets, will be announced and crowned, "Homecoming Queen of 2008" and rode around the field during halftime. Raffle tickets will be given out to the Mini Mights - Friday, August 8th (after practice) Might Mights - Tuesday, August 5th (after practice) Pee Wees - Saturday, August 7th (after practice) CANDY BARS: We are looking for a parent sponsor for the Mini Might Team and Pee Wee Team. Staci Griffin from the Mighty Might Team has already sponsored the Mighty Might Team with 10 boxes. Please contact Faren Ange or one of your coaches if you would like to be a sponsor. If you would like to become a sponsor, you will call and order the amount of boxes you would like to purchase. Then you will have them shipped to your house and give them to your coach at one of the practices. The coach will then distribute an even amount of candy bars between each cheerleader on the team. The cheerleaders will then sell them for $1.00 a piece. When they have all their candy bars sold, they will return the money to their coach and the coach will then pay back our sponsor and keep the profit to help buy new uniforms, mats, poms, shoes, and other things. If you have any questions, please don't hesistate to call 919-698-7359 or 919-308-7357. As most of you know who were here last year, we have a Bake Sale at every home game. It has been an excellent way to raise funds, get together as a team, and have fun. The new blue mat, our new uniforms, and our competition shoes (24 girls) from last year were raised by the help of this fundraiser. Every cheerleader from each team has to bring 1 baked good (example: pie, cake, muffins, cookies, brownies) to the Bake Sale table at they're assigned team meeting. Usually the parents will volunteer to help work the Bake Sale table until their child goes on the field. Then the next parents will be from the next team in line to play until all 4 games have been played. It's suppose to work from one set of team parents to the next so that all the parents will be able to watch their child.) Competitioin Info Competition season is fianlly here and the coaches are picking which girls to take. I hope you all have given it your all, attended as many practices, and practiced all you can. Your coaches will announce at your next practices who will be going to competition! Also, your coach will let you know what is required to stay on the competition team, if you are chosen. At any time your coach or commissioner feels that the requirements are not being fulfilled, they have the right to replace you with the next cheerleader in line. The competition date will be November 8th, 2008. Starting at 10:00am. Bunn is hosting the competition this year. As of now, I do not have any more information, but I will be attending another Director's Meeting soon. I will keep you posted and let you know about any other information you might need. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE CHEERLEADERS!!! |
