Tellarites
Race Name: Tellarite (plural: Tellarities)
Homeworld: Tellar
Notable Locations: Tellar Space Elevator
Affiliation: United Federation of Planets
HISTORY & CULTURE:
Tellarites are well known as an argumentative and stubborn species, but they do not
argue about the orders from superior officers, and they are careful not to let arguments
lead to full-blown warfare, as this has happened too many times in the past. Tellar emerged from its world war (which happened at about the same time as Earth's first world war) with a new sense of unity. This soon led to a united world government, which soon built ships to explore the area.
Early, no doubt argumentative contacts with the Andorians followed, and the two races found themselves conflicting with each other more than cooperating. This continued until 2154, when attacks by a marauder on ships on both sides brought them very close to all-out war. Human and Vulcan intervention averted this possibility, and this cooperation sowed the seeds of further cooperation and eventually the founding of the United Federation of Planets.
Tellarites like anything of science, be it political science, history, and government, or theoretical sciences, such as engineering. Tellarites have had a substantial contribution on ship designs for the Federation, and Tellarite buildings are awe-inspiring structures.
TELLAR SPACE ELEVATOR
The Tellar Space Elevator is the tallest free-standing structure in the Federation. The top of the structure is in the upper limits of the atmosphere. The lifts and transporter tubes make it possible to dock a starship at the top of the elevator and travel from space to the ground without a shuttle. The space elevator has become obsolete with the invention of transporters, but it remains standing as a monument to Tellarite engineering ability.
BIOLOGY:
Tellarities are humanoid in appearance, but zare noticeable for their porcine appearance and short height. Thick, furr-like hair nearly covers their bodies, and they tend to have rough voices.

GM NOTES:
Tellarites would be perfect for a player that doesn't mind playing a
character that likes to get into the middle of arguments and such. They
are high-energy and ready to jump into pretty much anything.
As of yet, there have been no Tellarites aboard the USS Cerberus in
a major role.
