Forget the BriSCA Formula One Stockcars BriSCA Heat will be the talk of the ovals in 2002! Wainman versus Speak? Pah! Everyone will be talking about the battle between Jok and Bozz at Newtongrange or the latest chapter in the Big Al and Travel story. April sees history being made as BriSCA Heat becomes the choice game for the online F1 season with over 70 drivers registered already, 2002 looks to be a cracker online as well as in real life. The reigning World Champion is Darren Summers aka Bozz and just as in real F1, the Gold Roof car will be starting all his races from the back of the grid. Although his appearances in the Test Series were limited, Bozz showed that he will be among the top competitors this season but with the gold paint, the 282 will definitely be a target. The winner of the F1 Heat Test Series came from Scotland, and boy did he take the title in some style! Jocky Lawson aka Jok was the man to catch over the 8 round series, netting 3 Finals and a stonking 50 point average score. The pace of this chap was unbelievable, despite having to start the majority of the series from the Superstar grade. Racing under the number 79, Jok is one of the favourites to take major honours this season, catch him if you can! The 515 number in BriSCA Heat belongs to Wainman fan Alex Gray aka Big Al, and he can hit just as hard (if not harder!) than the Frankie Boy. A nice 40 point average score for the man from Huddersfield means a Superstar grading for the first grading period. With one feature race victory to his name from the Test Series, he will certainly take some catching once he hits the front. Perhaps the quickest man on the track, Simon Fennel aka Trance suffered the most bad luck during the Test Series. The Unofficial Set-Up King of the BriSCA Heat League, Trance will almost certainly be looking to challenge Jok for the feature race wins as long as his luck doesnt get any worse. Sitting just outside the Superstar grade are some big hitters, none coming bigger than Stu Harris or Mark Green. Webmaster of the superb Trash Webzine for Bangers, Stu certainly takes no prisoners and if you dont get out of his way, hell do it for you! A very quick man with a very strong bumper, fight back if you dare Affectionately known as the Travelling Pixie, you will be hard pressed to find a nicer chap than Mark Green. Being a Speak Supporter, he has enjoyed many great battles with Wainman fan Big Al but dont be fooled into thinking thats his only target! As soon as the 365 car appears in your mirrors, expect to be moved if you try to keep him behind. Keeping the Castell name in the red grade is Garys son Ric, and just like his father, he can take a bit of catching when he gets the breaks. Staying with the young stars, Neal Bell aka Corny and Bryan Drummond aka BB have proven themselves to be more than able to match the pace of their elders. Despite missing a meeting, Corny still managed to plonk himself in the Superstar grade, although will be more than pleased to start the season from the star grade, with BB starting from Blue. Wayne Pearson aka Wolfie will also be running from the red grade after keeping a good average score during the Test Series. A top skin painter and a top competitor, Wolfie will provide a healthy challenge for the Superstars. Rounding out the red roofs is Scotsman Scott Pryde aka Prydie, a former Ministox competitor back in the days when Speaky and Wainman were plying their trade in the wee cars. Prydie even managed to roll Wainman at Newtongrange, whilst his dad fenced Wainman Snr in a dads race at Long Eaton! A real character on and off the track, guaranteed to make you laugh no matter how bad a meeting you are having. One mystery still remains when the season kicks off in Aprilwill our reigning National Points Champion appear? Mark Christie aka Rebel has so far been posted missing for any of the competitive online meetings, so remains a mystery force Looking further down the grades, you have drivers such as AndyH, JayW, Scrapman and BriSCA Heat creator Moz who can all use the bumper when needed, along with top Dutch competitors Edman, MC and top skin painter Dragon. With the competitive meetings so far having served up some unbelievably close and competitive racing, it is almost impossible to pick out any sure winners. However, one true fact remains Jok was the man to beat in the Test Series, and dont expect that to change. Jok, Big Al, Bozz and Trance will be the main players, gotta catch them to join them!
