When Kolbe uses too many magic water dragon powers, he gains a blue-green sheen. If he really goes over the edge, the image of a rather geyser appears around him.
Personality: Kolbe is... not the sharpest crayon in the fountain. Good thing he's a freakin' tank in combat. Kolbe is somewhat of a stereotypical frat boy- he just loves to hang out and party and hit on attractive females (he's actually quite the 'hunk', with very broad shoulders, pretty eyes and a toothpaste commercial smile, and he knows it. He's not the least bit modest.) He never takes anything too seriously. He calls all females 'babe', and most males either 'Pops' or 'Dude,' depending on their age and attitude. He's always hitting on the girls in his group and making entirely unsubtle innuendo, and he's a talented brawler, but inside, he's really a pussy-cat. He never likes seriously hurting any one or any thing, and would genuinely like everyone to be buddies. Not that he doesn't enjoy a good bar brawl now and then- unfortunately he doesn't really know his own strength. Also, no one ever really gets his sense of humor. He's far more likely to scare the crap out of peasants than make them laugh, but he honestly means well.
A typical quote from a game with Kolbe:
(Kolbe affects a stern, false voice) "Kolbe, you're spooking the horses. Kolbe, stop teasing the peasants. Kolbe, put your pants back on. (in his own voice) Man! You guys never let me have any fun!"
History: Basically, he was partying to hard to do well in school, so his parents sent him off with the Immaculate Army or whatever it's called, where he accepted a small mission in the middle of no where to avoid too much contact with people with authority.
Kolbe is a good swimmer, of course, and pretty good with horses. He recently lost his left hand in combat with an abyssal, which is now replaced with a magical black jade hand. He intends on tracking down said abyssal for revenge. Losing body parts is one of the only things that puts him in a sour mood.
