| Caylen Lightfoot (KAY-lin) Race: Human, with fae blood Class: Ranger (beastmaster and archer) Favored Weapon: Longbow Hometown: Faolan's Rest Animal Companion: swallow-tailed kite named Juniper Hair: black, long Eyes: brown- possibly no pupils, I haven't decided. Skin: fair Disntinguishing Marks: Slightly pointed ears, eyes lacking pupils Design Notes: Caylen is largely inspired by the Disney princesses, and her character design reflects that. She wears a simple hooded green jerkin and accessories for archery (brown leather bracers and archer's gloves.) She also always wears a silver ring on her left hand. Personality: I'm still figuring her out, but in general it's safe to assume she fits in with the later Disney heroines- you know, sweet natured with an adventurous spirit. Animal Companion: Juniper is a swallow-tailed kite that Caylen has raised from an egg, and a rather large kite at that. Like Caylen, he has fae blood (this will likely be reflected in his design, but for now, it's fine to draw him as large kite.) He wears magical jesses which offer some protection (in mechanical terms, they boost his healing,) as he is active in combat, coordinating his actions with Caylen's to create a formidable team. Juniper is the protective sort of animal companion, much like Rajah (Jasmine's tiger friend in Aladdin.) History: Caylen arrived in Faolan's Rest, (a small independant village near the Faewild) as a young girl with Rowan Whitehand (whom she refers to as "Uncle." Their actual relationship and status of her absent parents are unclear, as is fairly common for a Disney-style character.) These days, she and Juniper roam the woods with the Village Rangers, who protect the town and its bordering woods from outside threats. Her talent with archery has earned her some small reknown. Ideas for Art Exchange: The campaign I'm playing Caylen in is aD&D 4.0. The setting is homebrew, and largely influenced by tradional fairy tales, with the fae playing a more prominent role than usual. Dramatic archery poses, interaction with Juniper, woodland or quaint village (or castle) backgrounds and big floofy princess dresses would all work well with Caylen. Reference Images: Caylen profile image- currently unfinished, but it gives the general idea. I tried to go for a Disney style in art A swallow-tailed kite- picture from Wikipedia. Caylen- My attempt at drawing her Disney-style. Caylen- in my usual style, with colored pencils. Why are her head and arm shaped like that? Because that's what happens when you draw at an angle. ^_^;; More are coming soon. |
