ZOOG DISNEY CHAT Transcript -March 14, 2000-

Zoog Disney Host: Welcome, Melissa Williams!

Melissa Williams: Wow, you guys, I'm in such a great mood. Thank you all so much for all your support, I never imagined I would have fans before I even released an album. Thank you guys for supporting my Soundtrack songs. Im ready to get started.

Question: Do you feel that you are in a competition with Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears?

Melissa Williams: Not in competition. I don't feel that it's competition, because we all have our own thing going.

Question: Hi, Melissa, Adam here. What are some of your interests and favorite things to do, outside of singing?

Melissa Williams: Shopping. Going to the movies and eating junk food. Hanging out with my dancers. And we have a lot of fun.

Question: Hi, Melissa, I'm taking my nieces to your autograph signing tomorrow in Sacramento and then to the Jingle Ball on March 19th. Meet and greet passes would be great for the kids. ;) See you soon! Anyways, my question is, if you could be anything (not related to music), what would you be?

Melissa Williams: I really love to encourage and help people. So if I wasn't in the music business, I would probably be a therapist, because I'm a good listener. Can't wait to meet your nieces.

Question: Hi, Melissa, I heard that you were in the Mickey Mouse Club. Is that true, and if you were, how was it working with Britney, Justin, JC, Christina and Ryan?

Melissa Williams: I was not in the Mickey Mouse Club. But I have met Britney and Nsync, they are very nice people, and fun to hang out with.

Question: Melissa, will you be coming back home after your tour with Mariah Carey? Congrats on your success from back home...!

Melissa Williams: Hi, guys. Of course I'm coming home to spend the holidays. See you then!

Question: Hello, Melissa, I think your music is an inspiration to us all. What gave you the courage to try to get into this business when your odds of success were so low? -- Jessica... from Florida.

Melissa Williams: Well, you have to start believing in yourself and believing in your talent. And then work your craft by getting into voice lessons. And what I did was that I got an entertainment lawyer in New York. He set me [up] with meetings for record labels. Even when doors shut in your face, you got to pick right up and keep going. Remember that success is not always signing with a record label or being famous. Success is when you believe in yourself.

Question: Hey, Melissa, how long were you singing before you recorded your first song?

Melissa Williams: I was 14. I was always singing in church ever since I was little.

Question: Melissa, I don't mean to embarrass you or anything, but what was it like when your pants ripped in your performance in Madison Square Garden, and what did you do with those pants?

Melissa Williams: LOL. It was the most embarrassing moment of my life. All I could think was that everyone was seeing my booty right now. But the good thing that came out of it was that they sold for $1,000 for Rosie O'Donnell's charity. Hopefully it will never happen again! LOL.
