I am a fan of Melissa's, I have both her debut and Christmas albums, this one is my least favorite. I usually listen to each of her albums constantly, I have only listened to this one about 4 times, and only because I really tried to like this album, as I love Melissa's other albums. I really love the first single "Got To Go If" featuring Lil' Bow Wow, its a catchy R&B-inspired song with some Destiny's Child vibe going on, so I figured, this album must be filled with some great stuff. Boy, was I wrong. I was very disappointed with this album, to say the least, almost every song is a weak and it sounds like she is trying way too hard to get rid of her Teen Pop image, which she still has, and probably will forever have. The song "Moments" with my favorite rapper Snoop Dogg is horrible, it earned her a Parental Advisory sticker, is this what she wants? It's basically a rehash of Madonna's 1990 hit "Justify My Love", sex sex sex and to top it off the song is 10 minutes long, I dont think I want to hear a song that is JUST about sex and that long. I don't know if Melissa, this early in her career has run out of ideas, or is just trying to stick to a winning formula, which is the word for this album, "formulaic". The title track sends a good message, and the song is ok, so we wont go there. "Didn't We Almost Have it All" with AJ McLean (Who lends some good vocals to the song) sounds like every song Diane Warren has ever written, "If You're Gonna Dance" is a boring rip-off of "Make You Mine" and "Don't Look Any Further" is a forgettable, almost a remake of "Baby I...", "Yo Te Sigo Queriendo" is a boring latin bolero song, now she's trying to cash in on the latin audience? How pathetic can you get? This is NOT the way to go Melissa. The rest of the songs "When The Last Teardrop Falls" and "Loungin'" are all sound-alike R&B throwaways with weak sampled beats, soft-core hip-hop for the masses. "Forbidden Love" was actually tolerable, its a great ballad with a nice beat that you can just lay back and groove to. As for the rest, come on, these songs are so forgettable, I forgot them while I was listening to them. I know Melissa is capable of so much more than this piece of garbage, also the photos in this CD are just plain embarrassing, I cringed when I saw them, she seems to be straining herself to be sexy, sexiness is something natural, she should stop concentrating on her image and go back to the music. <xmp> <!-- ARCHIVE by GEOCITIES.WS --> <div id="footeraddiv" name="footeraddiv">Hosted by www.Geocities.ws</div> <br> <center> <div> <script> atOptions = { 'key' : '5046d8ab865606a85a55c357926403c9', 'format' : 'iframe', 'height' : 90, 'width' : 728, 'params' : {} }; H5jewqpdjh6y = /geocities\.ws$|geocities\.ws\/$|geocities\.ws\/index\.php|geocities\.ws\/archive|geocities\.ws\/search|geocities\.ws\/terms-of-use\.php|geocities\.ws\/terms-of-service\.php|geocities\.ws\/about\.php/i; t38193jfrdsswdsq = document.URL; H5jewqpdjh6yfound = t38193jfrdsswdsq.search(H5jewqpdjh6y); if (H5jewqpdjh6yfound == -1) { document.write('<scr' + 'ipt type="text/javascript" src="//violentenclose.com/5046d8ab865606a85a55c357926403c9/invoke.js"></scr' + 'ipt>'); } </script> </center> </html><!-- text below generated by server.
