While Melissa Williams was cranking out a Self-titled debut CD and a holiday collection, her 2000 debut went multiplatinum this year � but the singer doesn't plan to coast on those efforts.
The singer has ALREADY started work her next album, which she expects to finish around late-December Mid-January.
"I had many, many ideas for the upcomming record," Williams said Friday, during an interview in New York. "I can't wait until the fans hear it, we're still in the mid-production stages of the album so its still going on, but it's going to be a whole different project. I'm really excited to get into it."
Williams plans to reach out to some high profile production help to shake things up. "[I'll have] a lot of different collaborations," Williams said. "I'm going to be working with a lot of people. Rodney Jerkins actually called me the other day to get on it, and I'm loving working with Jermaine Dupri too, and a lot of different producers and artists."
A spokesperson for Williams's record label, JIVE, confirmed that Williams spoke to Dupri, and that she would work with multiple producers on the album. Williams said she plans to release the album sometime in February or March of 2001, and that she plans to support it with a Tour.
