Joanna made her competitive comeback
at the 1993 Nikon International, where she
placed fifth all around. She also won a bronze on beam, and silver on floor.

Joanna again made history in the
1994
World Championships, when she became only the second
Australian to ever make a final
in a Worlds. Injury unfortunately prevented her from competing.

1994 Commonwealth Games

Still recoving from her ankle injury
from Worlds, Joanna put in four strong routines at the 1994
Commonwealth Games, and led Australia to a bronze team medal. She
withdrew from the rest of the competition.

1996 National Championships

Joanna performed strongly at
the 1996 Australian
Nationals, and further enhanced her chances
to qualify for the 1996 Olympics.

Joanna competed in her first Olympic
Games in 1996,
