Mathew:
It is very difficult to narrow things down to only your Top 5. So I've
probably left out heaps of bands that I'm really into. I've been a fan of
Powderfinger since I first heard Transfusion many moons ago. Since then
I've seen the guys in action on numerous occasions and I am extremely
excited about "Internationalist". I think it is very refreshing to have
such depth in an album, with such a great vocal performance, and great
sounding guitars. Powderfinger are surrounded by such mediocrity in
Australian music......In an age when bands like Jebediah, Frenzal Rhomb and
The Living End can sell albums with their monotone drawl and pull the wool
over the kids eyes, its great to see that Powderfinger can rise above this
mediocrity and actually re-affirm my faith in Australian music.
