Hi everyone

My name is Jayme, and I just joined this fabulous little list. I am a 21 yr
old female. I live in Washington state, near Seattle. I saw Powderfinger
last Friday in Seattle with Coldplay. It was a GREAT show. I couldn't wait
for their album to be released here, so I ordered it and Internationalist
from an Australian online record store! I just adore them. I am keeping my
fingers crossed that they will come back. They said something about coming
back in March, but I havent heard anything more about it. Only one radio
station plays them, but hopefully more will start to. They seem to be
getting more popular! Anyway, I am excited to hear more about them!
Thanks
Jayme

I've got to agree with something Jodes and Jill have pointed out with ON5 -
when i got the album i overlooked These Days, My Kinda Scene, and even My
Happiness, because i'd heard these tracks so many times before...which, in
turn, effected my reaction to the album to a certain degree.

And as for the debate about where ON5 stands in the order of best pf
releases...i think that all of us take different likings to Powderfinger's
music for different reasons. I started getting into Pf around early Double
Allergic days, so for me DA has the most meaning. I still like their new
releases, but there's something lacking for me when i listen to them.
Maybe WHEN we started liking Powderfinger affects the way we react to their
music...for some of us anyway, but who knows! It's a possiblity anyway.

Hello all!

Forgive me for posting “old news” but I don’t get to access my digests very
often anymore. Firstly, I went to the Perth Big Day Out and seem to have a
similar opinion to most of my fellow Econodogs – a few oldies would’ve been
good to hear, however it was great to hear the new stuff live and I still
left satisfied as per every other PF gig I’ve been to.

Secondly, Mai, your photos of the Big Day Out were terrific!! I admire you
for risking life & limb for those shots – very selfless of you!!! Wish I
could’ve been as brave but sadly I was right up the back.

I hadn’t heard about the Coldplay/PF tour until I caught up on the digests
but it was interesting to read, as the two bands played cricket at the Perth
BDO and Bernard was happy to announce to us that Powderfinger “kicked their
arses”. Obviously, they’re good losers and some rapport was built for them
to now be taking PF with them on their tour.

On the Triple J side of things, most disappointing that Merrick & Rosso have
sold out. And is it just me or have Will & Adam’s brekky show become more
and more lame? Bring back the Sandman, I say!!!

P.S. HI SIMON!!

Just have to say the guys have not lost their touch. They were able to wow
the audience the way only PF can. It was only a 45 minute set, but that was
enough to shut up the guy behind me that was dissing them before they got on
stage. I told him he would be eating his words after he saw them play. He
ended up telling me they were one of the best bands he ever saw, and couldn't
wait to see them again.
They played most of Odyssey (which will be out here March 20th, but of
course I have already) and threw in Passenger, as a tease in my opinion. I
didn't have tix for the 1st night, but I was able to get in anyway. What is
better than a Powderfinger show? A "free" Powderfinger show! I snuck in to
their sound check even, which was so much fun, It was like my own private
show. I also got everything I wanted signed signed. And did I go crazy w/my
camera. Took pix with and of the guys. They are just the coolest people to
talk to. They said they were going to be back in a month or two, so I have
something else to look forward to.
They filmed part of their show for a CDROM magazine called Launch, don't know
if you have it in OZ but in case you do, I was told if you logon to
Launch.com, you get the first 3 months free and the video would most likely
be included there.
Justine- lost your email address. Got a picture of the guys signed for you,
so email me your street address, so I can get it out to you and also tell you
more of what happened.
Michelle at Fish- got one for you too.

I've got most of the Powderfinger albums, Parables, Double Allergic,
Internationalist and OD#5 and I reckon they're all great for different
reasons.

My problem is that one of my favourite EPs, called Transfusion,
has gone missing and I need another copy. Has anyone got it PLEASE!!

I'd love someone to help me with my little problem.

Cheers

Mat

Hey Everyone!

I am subscribed to the Coldplay mailing list and there is plenty of talk
about Powderfinger in the U.S. A few people have downloaded MP3s and like
what they here.

I also asked for people to send me there thoughts on Powderfinger's shows,
and this is what I have so far:

"Powderfinger was awesome tonight! can't wait to catch them again and pick
up their album...."

"'for you' (everybody who wasn't at the show in NYC on Friday night), here's
how it went down:

i along, with many others, including my new friend, Lauren, waited
(im)patiently for two hours in the cold rain to get into Irving Plaza,
"shiver"ing. Once in, the doors to the floor were closed. Lauren and I
proceeded to use this time to purchase shirts. meanwhile, a large group
gathered outside the door closest to the stage. when those doors opened,
they all got stopped, but luckily I snuck in the second set of doors and got
right up front and center, aside two others who beat me there. we waited
another hour for Powderfinger, who was awesome - definitely pick this album
up (when it comes out). After they were through, we waited another 30 - 45
minutes for the lights to go down and prepared ourselves for the main event
- COLDPLAY!"

Great to see Powderfinger is making it in the U.S. Seems as though the new
album is eagerly anticipated....

Hope you are all having a good weekend and looking forward to the new uni
year (not).

Daniel
