Hey all,
Kate. What can I say. I will leave it at that haha. The pictures say
enough I think hehe.
Ok much to follow on from my pathetic attempt at an econo meet at
homebake 99........... I propose another one. I will this time make it
and spend less time on my phone. Anyone up???? It'd be nice to see you
crazy sydney bunch again. I think I have actually met the lot of you
(well almost!)
So email me at [email protected] if interested. I hope we can try
and beat homebake's record (I think sydney still holds record as the
largest econodog meet yeh? Mwahahaha just try and beat us you sad and
sorry interstaters! I put the competition to ya!)
************
IMPORTANT COVERS CD INFO:
************
Ok. For those of you who are interested thankyou and a more detailed
email will be sent out so all is clear.
For those not yet in the know listen up -
I am organising a covers cd. This entails covers of pf songs old or
new in an interesting and/or original way by YOU the econo's. It would
be fun for a bunch of you to get together being the budding musicians
you all are and use your imagination/illusion to create a spiffy pf
cover. Instruments are unlimited. saucepans, bricks, pets whatever.
You name it you use it. We are after the craziest and wackiest
versions of songs.
If you think you wanna be involved (if you aint a musician, coverart
and design may be your go) then email me at [email protected] and
we can begin business! The cd's will be available for all on this list
only after June 2001. Hence June 2001 is indeedy the cutoff date.
So get cracking and email me and I'll give you any more info you
require!
Love most of youse (I have PMT)
Janet
pps. Vic that was a touching quote of yours. I think I may be using
"THANKYOU FOR MY FRIENDS" much more often!

Hi everyone!
My name is Jody and I've just joined the group, so here I
am introducing myself. I am 19 years old. I live in Sydney. I'm
studying to become a primary school teacher. I'm only a new PF
fan, having fallen in love with 'Already gone'. Although I'd
heard of them before, it wasn't until I heard this song that
I realised how great they really are. My best (and only) concert
experience was at the Enmore last year, although I hope to see
many more. I found out about the Econodogs having scoured every
single PF site I could find. >From my experiences so far (i.e.
at the concert and on the discussion board), you all seem like
very nice people, and I look forward to finding out more.
See ya's.

hey fellow Powderfinger fans.
my name is Sara Jane, i live in brisvegas, and i'm 18.
i have to admit that i haven't been a PF follower since day one. In fact, i
only joined in when These Days was released. i think i've made up for lost
time, however. i am now a huge fan.
i found out about econodogs by looking at the oipic web site.
choosing my fav song is hard, i think i'll have to name a couple:
Pick You Up
These Days
Waiting For The Sun
and there's no way i can choose a fav cd. it depends what mood i'm in. at
the moment it's double allergic.
i simply love Bernie's voice. it's so flexible, changing from angry and loud
to soft and mellow. bernard is part of the reason why i became to "obsessed"
(as some people like to call it) with the band. i remember seeing him at a
cafe. he had the long hair, stubble, and no shoes. i fell in love instantly.
since then, i've fallen in 'love' with all of the five members. i was lucky
enough to be an extra in the recent Like A Dog film clip. i got to meet all
the guys. it was so much fun. all members are so down-to-earth, funny and so
unbelievably natural. anyway . . .
i saw them in bne when they recently toured (they totally rocked out!!), and
i plan to see them at bdo gc 01.
that's all for now
before i go, i collect photos on PF, so if anyone knows a good site, let me
know.
Sara Jane

Subject: Powderfinger and HOYTS
Hey all. Well i've finally been bothered to post this
kinda cool thing that happened to me a few weeks ago
(ok...NO I didn't see the 'finger at the movies!! I
wish!!!)
Anyway, just before Christmas, I went to the movies
with two of my sisters(hi kezz!) and my niece to see
The Grinch at HOYTS, Chatswood. We walked into the
foyer only to hear that they were playing These Days!!
Me and my sis were pretty stoked about that. Later on
when we were inside the actual theatre, they played
"The metre" and" like a dog" and possibly one other
song.
The point of this is that Powderfinger are getting
the airplay they deserve!!!
Oh and during the olympics on the telly, I just
happened to be watching the gymnastics one night
whilst waiting for The Dream to come in, and the
background music was "Day you Come" How very cool.
Bye!

Subject: RADIO PLAY!!!!
I heard my happiness on the radio today, which shocked the hell out of me. I
heard it on KROQ in L.A., the same station that made silverchair known all
over the States. I don't know if I'm happy for them cuz now they'll get the
recognition they deserve here, or sad for me cuz everyone will know who they
are. I considered them a secret only a select few knew, but I guess I have
to learn to share now.

Well, how good were the boys tonight on triple j's live at the
wireless? Shame it went for only half an hour but it sure was
good to hear the boys again. Will have to tide me over since I
can't make it to the BDO again ths year, damn money!
Anyway, on another note, if anyone will see or write to Aimee
Jenkins some time in the near future, please remind her that I
(along with others) are still waiting for the videos we paid
for back in March. I've written to her but have had no response.
Would just like to find out what's going on. Holidays are on
now so school is no longer an excuse :-)
Thanks.

there was an article in the Courier about that a few days ago. And I really
would like to hear the song. I still think My Happiness is a mad song. And
does anyone have a ticket they could sell me cheap for the bdo? *sigh* cos I
dont have $80.
