Hey all. i used to be on the list ages ago but it lacked
velevant discussion on the band so i bailed. After the concert
I witnessed on Sunday night, I feel that I now need to continue
my devotion to Powderfinger and one way is to become an Econodog.
A bit about me. i'm 19, live in Toowoomba Queensland, study
at the University here and love Powderfinger to bits. My fave PF
song is kinda hard to choose as I really have one of each album.
DA = Pick you Up Inter = Day You Come and ON5 = Up and Down and Back
Again. Although many come close to each. Sunday night was the first
time I have seen the band live after i had been hanging out for two
years to see them, things just hadn't worked out in the past. The
concert was breathtaking, literally. The place was sold out and the
club has only standing room and as I was the second row from the
front it was kinda squishy. Only drew blood once though in a small
cut behind by ear, enflicted by a crowd surfers kick, but nothing
that could spoil the night. At the end of the gig, i had the
awesome pleasure of getting my copy of ON5 signed and then the
further pleasure of meeting JC and chatting to him for about
ten minutes. As far as I have heard the boys have kept basically
the same set list for all the shows so far.
Well that's about all from me for now. Looking forward to an
extended stay on the list and to enjoying the company of other
addicts. Cheers.
Richie.

Subject: Powderfinger tours in USA?
Hello:
I'm a newbie to econodog and came about it looking for news of
powderfinger's latest CD.
I'm completely out of the loop because I live in San Francisco, CA
(ex Sydney) and listen to Triple J via the internet and have heard a
few tracks but am desperate to buy this CD - 'happiness' is awesome
!!
NOW - When are Powderfinger doing a REAL tour of the USA ??? there
is such a vacuum here that needs to be filled by a gutsy, indie band
like Powderfinger !!!! Please please come and play the Fillmore or
Warfield or even Bimbo's in San Francisco - get out into the pacific
northwest like Seattle and Portland (known for having the most Strip
Joints per capita in the world...) and I assure you people will
devour Powderfinger !!
anyway...that's my rave!

hey there gang,
i scored a ticket to the forum show on friday 13th... had to give yo la
tango a miss, but was well worth it. in no particular order they played
waiting for the sun, daf, jc (dz on vocals), oipic, belter, already gone,
the day you come, passenger, don't wanna be left out, celebrity head, good
day ray, like a dog, my happiness, odyssey #5, my kind of scene, these days,
we should be together now, lo and behold (new?) these days and
thrilloilogy.. one thing i noticed is how many quality songs they have to
choose from now... they didn't play the old staples like pick you up or
living type, nor did they have to..
it was great to catch a melbourne gig where bernard wasn't sick for a
change.. some poor guy probably has a very sore head right now too.. he
landed over the barrier on his scone and was out cold for the entirety of
the next song.... in all was an absolute bender of a night..

jesus, that's something to complain about mate.. my heart bleeds
hope you get over it ;P
That was until I realised that it falls in the
>middle of my 2 week holiday in Mexico. I couldn't believe it!
>Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do about the dates, and
>everything has already been paid for.

Hello Econodogs
My name is Rebel Williams (yes Rebel is my real name)
I am 20 years old, and have lived in Canberra all my life. I am studying at
the ANU. I have seen Powderfinger 4times, the first time at the Sydney
Opera HOuse in 1998 (for the opera houses 25th birthday. I have seen them
everytime they have come to canberra since then (which has been 3 times). I
won't say my fav album, song or concert, because i love them all for
different reasons.
See ya

Greetings fellow econos,
Delayed travel to the States to see the boys rock out The Forum Theatre in
Melb on Friday, and damn was it worth it. Boys put in a blinder, and apart
from the lack of "Pick you up" I couldn't complain. Magic Dirt was somewhat
disappointing, with Adam (drummer's) son receiving more attention than their
tunes. Maybe they were just too humble, or maybe the venue too large in that
it was too easy not to get involved in md before the "main event".
G'day to Tim - who I spotted in an alcohol haze sporting the same econodogs
shirt as myself throughout the night. And hello to 2 chicks, who at
different stages during the night felt compelled to grab me and remind me I
was wearing an econodogs shirt - love your work!
A general thanks was directed towards the econodogs towards the end of the
set - which is never as good as a song dedication - but something
nonetheless.
I could no doubt recite the songs that were played; however the order I'd
struggle with. Hence, if anyone out there has the set list, I'd be much
appreciative.
